Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main . . - :
achievements of the charity This has been another successful year for the charity specifically in
during the year relation to the administration of funds to provide humanitarian
support to those suffering because of the conflict in Ukraine. The
club’s income has been high, substantially because of these
projects.
Through the efforts of two of our Rotarian members, we have
administered funds received from four American Rotary Clubs as
well as generous individuals. The monies have been used to
purchase and deliver thermal clothing, medical supplies, water
purification units and triage medical kits. In all cases we are
working with the Rotary Club of Ukraine Unity as the receiving Rotary
club. That umbrella club is responsible for the delivery of goods
within Ukraine to the other constituent Rotary clubs,
Also, money has been used for the acquisition of emergency aid
vehicles, 4 x 4 vans and ambulances
The club has provided administrative services for grant aid and
private funding via its Treasurer. These are used as above and we
work with the president of the Ukraine Unity Club, for the purchase
and delivery of goods to Ukraine.

Again, distribution links to Ukraine are with The Ukraine Unity Club We have previously raised funds for Ukrainian refugees who have taken up temporary residence in Whitstable. These have been spent on clothing, rent, utilities, educational and social projects. They continue to be spent for continung need in the UK especially for the education of Ukraine refiugee children.
We have also raised money for local projects not connected to Ukraine. We have enjoyed particularly successful collections at Christmas tide and also through involvement with a local charity car parking facility (offered by a local school) which is open regularly throughout the year. When we manage the carpark, one half of the funds raised at that car parking are paid to that local school and the balance is held for the benefit of this charity.
We have made donations to other overseas emergency projects and also to local charitable organisations (many of whom make presentations to our club) and individuals in financial or social or medical distress.
We have been able to augment our donations via claims for Gift Aid and Gift Aid Small Donations
We have also raised money from social charity events such as dinners and concerts. In many cases we work with other charities to enhance the marketing and to focus fundraising. We may share the charitable monies with the other charity or give all the monies raised to that charit

## Brief statement of the charity’s policy on reserves
## Charity Reserves
In our charity account, any sums not spent from Rotary grants or specific donations are held in reserve and ringfenced to be applied specifically towards projects that are acceptable to those donors. If a donation has been agreed but not yet paid then it is ring fenced in the club charity account and is not available for other charitable purposes. Other money is unreserved. It may be used for any charitable concerns that the club members may agree upon.
We have a broad policy that where donations are set aside for a specific cause but not paid within a year, we will chase the donee to ascertain if the payment is still required. If not, the sum will be reassigned to our charity account and again form part of our unreserved funds. In relation to our general account (which is club money for club administration and expenses), we do not have a specific reserves policy. Principally income is from our members’ subscriptions. However, budgets are prepared at the beginning of the financial year (including a small contingency fund) and we adhere to those budgets so there should not be an over spend. Our club subscription for each member is set to provide adequate monies for all scheduled expenses. We are always in credit for payment of such outgoings. Winding up (charitable and general funds)
However, in the event of the charity being wound up there would be no expenses that would have to be paid before liquidation. We have no employees (so there would be no redundancy or employment costs) or other long-term costs that would have to be met before the charity could be wound up. All debts are paid as they fall due. Payments are not committed unless there are sums to discharge the debt.
We have no leasing or hire purchase arrangements (whether for real property or equipment). We have made no forward commitments to pay any funds from our general account. We would be able to wind up the charity immediately.
After payment of any debts, all sums (if any) that are held in our general account would belong to the club members and would be repaid proportionately. Alternatively, if the club was to merge with another club any such funds would be held for the benefit of the new joint club subject to our club member approval.
Any general charitable monies held in our charity account (after payment towards specific projects) would be paid to the Rotary International Charitable foundation unless donors or club members instruct another charity. Alternatively, if the club was to merge with another club any such funds would be held the benefit of the new charitable account subject to approval.
As such the above principles form our reserve policy
