Respective responsibilities of the trustees and examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 4J{21 of the Cliarities Act 199i {the 1993 Act) and thai an independent examination is needed. It is m}, responsibility to.. examine the account5 under section 43 of the 1993 Act, to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 4i{7)(b) of the 199i Act, and to state whether particular matterg have coine to my attention. Basis of independent exarniner s report My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An exan)ination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also iiicludes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounis: and seeking explanations from the trustees conceming any such matters. The procedures uiideTt2ktn do not provide all the evidence tliat would be ￿quI[ed in an audit. ai)d consequently no opiiiion is given as to whether tlie accounts present a 'true and fair, view and the report is limited to those matters set out in Ihe statement below. Independent exainiiier's stateinent In connertion with my examination, no matter has come to Tn}. attention which gives Ine reasonable cause to believe that in, any Inaterial respect. the requirements.. to keep accounting records in accordance with section 41 ol'the 1993 Act; and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting reu)rds and comply with the accounting requirements of the 1993 Act have not been met . or 2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper iinderstanding of the accounts to be reached.
