30[TH] JUNE 2025
ROTARY CLUB OF SALCOMBE TRUST FUND
TRUSTEES REPORT (Year Ending 30[th] June 2025)
The Trustees present their Report and Accounts for the year ended 30[th] June 2025
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT:
Registered Charity No: 1023433
Trust Fund’s Contact Address: Elm Cottage, Galmpton, Kingsbridge, TQ7 3EY
Trustees:
Richard John Edwards
Edwin John Sampson
John Howard Cooke
Paul Hamilton Brayton
Trustee selection: Trustees are appointed from the Officers of the Club (President, Secretary, Treasurer and Past Presidents).
Governing Document: Trust Deed dated 7[th] April 1982.
Aims and Actvites:
Aims of the Trust Fund:
To raise Funds within Salcombe, Malborough and Hope Cove to support local charities and deserving projects/causes. As well as National and International causes usually within the world wide Rotary Umbrella.
Main activities:
-
1) Organisation and Operational Management of a day long Festival (Crabfest) in Salcombe during the first Bank Holiday weekend in May.
-
2) Organisation of public dinner with Raffle and Auction.
-
3) Organisation of Community Carol Service with collection taken.
-
4) Collection made when taking a sleigh decorated float with Father Christmas around our area two evenings in December.
Funds raised by the above are supplemented by public and member donations.
Achievements:
Making Annual Donations/grants totalling over £25,000 benefitting 10 local and national charities. A Summary of these donations/grants is shown in the Trust Accounts. This year we have just fell short of the previous year in terms of income but slightly increased grants made. That previous year had been our best to date by 50% so we are pleased to have
maintained that new higher level of income. Adjustments made to our fund raising events continued to produced positive results. We therefore conclude that this year was, once again, a year in which we successfully achieved our aims.
Additonal Governance:
Club and Trust matters are discussed at weekly meetings of members. Once a month there is a Business Meeting at which decisions are made on projects, applications for funding and donations. A Financial Status Report is given at each Business Meeting (bank balances, payments in the pipeline, payments made).
Declaraton:
The Trustees declare that they have approved the Trustees Report above.
