Friends of St Owen’s Bromham Registered Charity Number 1022947 Trustees’ Report – Year ending 31 December 2021
The most significant event of the year 2021 was, of course, the official opening of the church extension by the Bishop of Bedford on 26[th] September and the naming of the Fellowship Room.
In this final year of raising funds for the Building Project some £20,000 was donated to which will be added gift aid when recovered from HMRC. In addition, a little over £4,000 was received to help equip the kitchen.
A sub-committee has been formed to manage the use of the Fellowship Room and 5 fee-paying events were held in November and December.
The 100 Club is up and running again thanks to Frances Bulmer and we look forward to this becoming, once more, a regular source of income.
With government Covid-19 restrictions being eased more and more, I am hopeful that we can look forward to a year in which the Friends can support the Parish Church and its mission as we used to do. To this end, I would like to hear from anyone who is willing to help with the planning of concerts, entertainments and the like.
Finally, it seems to me appropriate to raise the subject of succession planning. Both your Chairman and Secretary are in their late 70s and it would be beneficial for the Friends to consider successors whilst we are still around to offer the benefit of our experience.

Friends of St Owens Financial Report 2021
The year 2021 has seen the completion of the Extention at St Owen fundraising for this has not only paid for the extention but left the F of the Friends in good shape. In 2022, we have our next quinquenia which will no doubt bring further challenges to our group as we aim preserve our wonderful Church.
The accounts show we have £59,358 in the bank, split between the Fund (£44,024) and General Fund (15,334).
From these funds, we must make the final payment to the Builders Architect (the retention is of the order of £17,000, plus final works) balance of the Headstone £500. We have however an outstanding G claim, currently being worked on, which will hopefully be of the ord £6,000.00
The General Fund contains £1,824 of '100 Club' monies and £170 o subscriptions that relate to 2022. This is not shown seperatly as thi rolling' fund, and has no annual meaning.
Lastly, may I thank Frances for her 'cashier' role (one of the many), David and Simon for their help and advice.
