## **Structure, Governance and Management**
The charity is governed by the Parent Kind Constitution, adopted in September 2024 and uploaded to the Charity Commission in May 2025. Throughout the reporting period the trustees have operated in accordance with the Constitution and Charity Commission guidance.
The charity is managed by a committee of volunteer trustees who oversee governance, fundraising activities, financial management and the allocation of charitable funds. Trustees meet regularly throughout the year to review finances, consider requests for funding from the school and ensure that charitable funds are applied solely in furtherance of the charity's objectives.
All trustees give their time voluntarily and receive no remuneration or other financial benefit for acting as trustees.
## **Objectives and Public Benefit**
The charity exists to advance the education and improve the life opportunities of pupils attending Chatsworth High School and Community College, a specialist school supporting children and young people with a wide range of additional needs and disabilities.
The charity raises funds to purchase equipment, provide enrichment opportunities and enhance the educational environment beyond that which would ordinarily be available through statutory funding.
When planning activities and making funding decisions, the trustees have had due regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit. All expenditure during the year was directed towards projects that improved educational outcomes, promoted inclusion, enhanced wellbeing and supported pupils' physical, emotional and social development.
## **Activities During the Year**
The trustees continued to organise a wide range of fundraising activities involving parents, carers, staff, local businesses and the wider community.
Events held during the year included:
- Christmas Fayre
- Summer Fayre
- Valentine's Danceathon
- Live Band Night
- Seasonal raffles
- Community fundraising initiatives
- Receipt of a generous donation of £22,700 from a parent in support of the charity's work.
These activities generated significant income whilst strengthening relationships between the school and its community and raising awareness of the charity's work.
## **Achievements and Performance**
The trustees are proud of the positive impact made during the year.
A major investment was the purchase of new rebound therapy trampolines costing over £6,800. These trampolines support physical education, sensory regulation and therapeutic intervention for pupils across the school. More than 120 pupils have benefited directly from access to the new equipment.
The trampolines are available throughout the school day, enabling pupils to regulate their emotions and sensory needs when required. Staff have reported a noticeable improvement in pupils' ability to self-regulate and a reduction in behaviours that challenge, allowing pupils to engage more successfully in learning and daily school life.
The charity also funded outdoor regulation and play equipment at one of the school's sites. These resources have created new opportunities for pupils to participate in enrichment activities, develop friendships and strengthen their communication and social interaction skills through structured and unstructured play.
Feedback from staff has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the significant difference the new equipment has made to pupils' wellbeing, engagement and enjoyment throughout the school day. Pupils have embraced the new opportunities, benefiting from improved access to therapeutic and recreational resources designed specifically to meet their needs.
The charity also contributed towards school events, including the annual prom, helping to ensure pupils could enjoy memorable experiences and celebrate important milestones alongside their peers.
## **Financial Review**
The charity remained in a strong financial position throughout the year.
Total income for the year amounted to **£27,902.28** , reflecting another successful year of fundraising supported by parents, staff, local businesses and the wider community. This included an exceptional donation of **£22,700** , together with income generated through fundraising events including the Christmas Fayre, Summer Fayre, Valentine's Danceathon, Band Night and seasonal raffles.
Total expenditure during the year was **£9,481.19** , with funds invested directly into projects and resources that supported pupils attending Chatsworth High School and Community College. Significant expenditure included the purchase of rebound therapy trampolines, contributions towards the school prom, educational resources and equipment to enhance pupils' learning and wellbeing.
The charity reports a net surplus of **£18,421.09**
The trustees remain satisfied that the charity's finances are managed prudently and that available resources continue to be directed towards activities delivering the greatest benefit for pupils.
## **Reserves Policy**
The trustees recognise the importance of maintaining appropriate financial reserves to enable the charity to continue supporting the school in future years.
Reserves are held to provide financial stability, meet future funding requests and ensure the charity can continue delivering projects even where fundraising income fluctuates. The trustees review reserves regularly as part of their financial planning.
At the current time, the reserve is set at **£2,500**
## **Risk Management**
The trustees regularly review the principal risks facing the charity.
Key risks identified include:
- Reduced fundraising income due to economic pressures.
- Availability of volunteers to organise fundraising activities.
- Maintaining appropriate financial controls.
- Safeguarding during fundraising events.
- Compliance with charity law and data protection legislation.
Appropriate financial procedures are in place, including dual oversight of expenditure, regular financial reporting and committee approval of significant purchases. These arrangements provide reasonable assurance that charitable funds are safeguarded and used appropriately.
## **Plans for Future Periods**
The trustees will continue building on the success of this year's fundraising activities.
Priorities for the coming year include:
- Continuing to enhance learning environments across the school.
- Purchasing additional specialist equipment where required.
- Supporting educational enrichment opportunities.
- Expanding community fundraising initiatives.
- Strengthening partnerships with parents, carers and local businesses.
- Building sustainable reserves to ensure the charity can continue supporting pupils for many years to come.
The trustees remain committed to ensuring that every pound raised delivers meaningful benefits for pupils attending Chatsworth High School and Community College.
## **Statement of Trustees' Responsibilities**
The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees' Annual Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and Charity Commission guidance.
The trustees confirm that they have complied with their duty under section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit.

The charity held sufficient cash reserves at the year end to support future charitable activities.
## **Other Assets**
During the year the charity purchased specialist equipment, including rebound therapy trampolines and outdoor play and regulation equipment, for use by Chatsworth High School and Community College. These assets are held for charitable purposes and are not included as monetary assets within these Receipts and Payments Accounts.
## **Liabilities**
At 31 August 2025 the trustees are not aware of any significant outstanding liabilities other than normal operating expenses incurred in the ordinary course of business.

## **Basis of Accounting**
These accounts have been prepared on the **Receipts and Payments** basis in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 and the Charity Commission's guidance for charities with gross annual income below the statutory audit threshold.
## **Nature of the Charity**
Chatsworth High Association of Parents and Staff (C.H.A.P.S.) exists to advance the education of pupils attending Chatsworth High School and Community College by raising funds to provide additional educational, therapeutic and recreational opportunities beyond those available through statutory funding.
## **Principal Funding Sources**
Income during the year was generated from:
- Donations
- Community fundraising events
- Christmas and Summer Fayres
- Band Night
- Valentine's Danceathon
- Seasonal raffles
- Parent contributions
The charity also received a substantial donation from a parent in support of its charitable objectives.
## **Charitable Expenditure**
Funds raised during the year enabled the charity to purchase:
- Rebound therapy trampolines supporting PE, sensory regulation and therapeutic intervention.
- Outdoor regulation and play equipment.
- Resources supporting enrichment activities.
- Contributions towards pupils' school prom.
- Seasonal activities and educational resources.
More than 120 pupils have directly benefited from the new specialist equipment purchased during the year.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended **31/08 / 2025**
**Responsibilities and** As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the **basis of report** accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
## **Independent examiner's statement**
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination (other than that disclosed below *) which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
- the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or
