SMIRA gives information about selective mutism to parents of sm children, their teachers, speech and language therapists and others helping such children. It also provides some direct support to families, and conducts small-scale research into aspects of sm.
Objects: To Relieve Sickness By The Provision Of Information And Support To Children Suffering From Selective/elective Mutism, For Their Parents And Profesional Workers Involved In The Care Of Children; To Advance Education Of The Public By Conducting Research Into The Condition And Publishing The Useful Results Of Such Research
