3[rd] Bodmin Annual Charity Commission Report
3[rd] Bodmin Scout Group has continued to grow in 2025. It continues to be a part of the Bodmin Community working with Bodmin Town Council and Cornwall Council to improve what is available for the youth of Bodmin
The Group also helps other charities and groups within the town, attends events and helps to organize events for the town.
The Group has within its structure: 1 Squirrel Dray (4 years to 6 years), 2 Beaver Colonies (6 years to 8 years), 1 large Cub Pack (8 years to 11 years), 1 Scout Troop (11 years to 14 years), 1 Large Explorer unit (14 years to 18 years) and a Young Leaders provision (14 years to 18 years). We have an Adult Leaders Team of 25 Leaders. We also have a waiting list.
All the sections run an exciting programme which includes a lot of outdoor activities over the year. The list of activities undertaken is too long to list but includes: Skills for life, Camping, Walking, Surfing, Games, Visits and Visitors who give talks.
The Group has a Website and Facebook page.
The Group owns its Building which is also used by the Community of Bodmin for meetings and different activities. These include early years Groups, adult zumba group, Guide dog training and many more.
The Group also has land around the building leased from Cornwall Council. This is used for outside activities which include camping, fire lighting and environment teaching. Groups from the town and outside the area also use the site.
The Group are in the process of building a new toilet and shower block, diisabled access and an activity area, for which we have planning permission.
The Group has a very active Board of Trustees making sure that Group is run correctly
