The Watery Lane Pre-school is subject to a constitution dated 20 Ociober ?016.
Under the Commiltee's conslitution ihe commillc¢ mcmbcrs are also the charity Irustees. Under the
conslitulion ihe committre shall consi%i of noi less than 5 members. and shall meel no less Ihan
once a year.
Objeetive$ and activities
The aim of the charity is to pmvidc a pre-school setiing which is nM)nitored by tbe appropriate
authorities, where children undcr slatutory school age can attend on a daily basis. Thc charity offers
appropriate play, education and care facilities and family learning. Parents have th¢ right to take
responsibility for and to beconK involved in th¢ activity of the group
Thc charity provides public bcncfii through its main aclii'ity of providing a pre-school sctting
which is available for all children of pre-school agc and enabling parcnts to bc involved in its
activities. Th¢ majorily ofthe children are fundcd by the local authority thus increasing the access
of the charity io its pupils.

Achievements and performance
We bave fully rei'amped our curriculum for lasl year and this is enabling us to bc more creative in
planning activities to develop the children to their potenlial. In addition we ba&'e been in talks with
St.Michacl's sch￿1 to take over their after school provision and this will commcnce from next
Monday. This should bring add¢d revenue in for us which is much n¢¢ded.
Due to economies of scale and expansion our financial situalion has improved but we cannol
guarantee that this will always be the case particularly with governmcnt funding collstrdints.
Therefore. fundraising is more importani ihan ¢v¢r and now that we have sadly lost OUT fundrdising
coordinator this is a crucial area to lake forw.ard into this new academic year. I very much hope
someone will be able lake this role on to coordina* fundraising actii'ities lo ensure our income
ontinues to meet our outgoings.
We are finally proceeding with OUT 'Hygge Hut. and work should be completed during (ktober hair
tenn. Thls will provide a much needed spacc for small group acllvities. children that nccd a quiet
space. a space to meet with parents and very importantly, somewhere for our amazing staff to eat
their lunch and have a very well dcscrvd break To date we have raised £1496 from funthzising
and funding that we have been able to allocate as well &s £15 so far raised through our Just GI￿￿ng
pagc. In addiiion. we have been successfully selected for the Tesco Stronger Starts campaign so
please do remember which slot to put your tokens in! The totsl cosl will be £80(K) - £90(Kl pounds
SO Vle do still have some way to go in tern)s of fundraising for this crucial addition to our provision.
Foresi School has always been a huge pisitivc in thc prO￿lS1on w¢ offer and the programmc of
14orest School trdnsition from Acorns to Oaks has been hugely successful once again this year with
children having the confidence to explore, Create. risk assess and problem solve in tIK natural
environment builth'ng critical skills for their future.
Flnancial Review
The majority of thc charity's income is derived from fccs and grants received for the provision of
preschool education. Net fundraising activities generaled £1,896 (?023 £1,424). At the end of the
financial year reserve5 were £75,446 (2023 £47.009).

I reporl in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of thc 2011 Act
and in carrying out rny cxamination I have followed the applicable directions given by the Charity
Commission under seciion 145(5Xb) of the Act.

I have completed my cxamination. I confimi thal no material mancTS hav¢ come to my attcntion in connection
with the examination giving me cause lo believe that in any material respect;
accounting records were not kept in respeci of the Trnst a5 Tequired by section 130 of the Acr. or
the accounts do not accord with those records.
