Beeding & Bramber Preschool Playgroup Charity Number : 1020931 Beeding & Bramber Village Hall High Street Upper Beeding West Sussex BN443WN

Trustees: Sophie Tierney Liam Tierney Anita Payne Alice Crooks Natalie Jogota Hannah Leach Cat Adam

The aims of Beeding & Bramber Preschool Playgroup are to enhance the development and education of the children under school age by encouraging parents to understand and provide the needs of their children through community groups and by offering appropriate play , education and care facilities.

The charity’s activities further the public benefit by supporting the needs of children and families and promoting the importance of voluntary community involvement in childcare. The charity’s beneficiaries are the children and families who access our own services and also those of our members. The charity supports central and local government initiatives and provides support to parents to engage in there children’s learning at home, providing a range of benefits and services for families.

We have an annual AGM where the trustees for the year are proposed and accepted.

The trustees have given due regard to the guidance issued by the charity commission on the public benefit principles and have reviewed all activities and plans outlined in this report to ensure that they comply with those principle. The trustees set objectives based on their assessment of the childcare public need and support needs of those caring for and working with young children and their families.

We are structured in the form of a supervisor and 5 other members of staff, we have a further 2 emergency bank staff. The preschool is managed by a voluntary committee of trustees. In order to recruit new trustees we advertise through out the year , sending out emails to the parents & guardians of those attending. We also display posters on the notice board throughout the year, asking for people to join our committee and become trustees. Trustees also attend all fundraising events and talk with parents/guardians and inform them of the work they carry out as trustees.

The trustee’s main objectives throughout the year are to keep the preschool running safely & also cost effectively. Therefore through out the year the trustees focus on fundraising, raising vital funds for the preschool and allowing them to buy/replace equipment and learning resources throughout the school year.

We successfully managed to raise over £1000 by carrying out a number of fundraisers including , Easter eggs hunts, Halloween party, glitter tattoo stalls and a teddy bears picnic. Not only did this help us raise such a large amount of money, it also meant that the public could join in with some of these events , allowing past, present and children waiting to join preschool to attend.

## **Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees**

I report to the Trustees on my examination of the accounts of Beeding and Bramber Pre-School Playgroup for the year ended 31 August 2022.

## **Responsibilities and basis of report**

As the charity's Trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the 2011 Act').

Having satisfied myself that the accounts of the Charity are not required to be audited under Part 16 of the 2006 Act and are elgibile for independent examination, in carrying out my examination I have followed all applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act.

## **Independent examiner's statement**

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act or

2. the accounts do not accord with those records or

3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a "true and fair view" which is not a matter considered as part of an independent

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in ths report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
