Achievements and Performance

|---|---|---|
| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | This has been another year where the preschool has continued to grow and flourish, with record numbers of children in attendance and a waiting list for 2 year old places. We have also been able to build-on our fundraising efforts this year, including supporting the return of the Old Time Music Hall event (a much-loved village event!), the Christmas performance, Sports Day, the village fete and our end of years Leaver’s picnic to celebrate those children moving on to Infant School. 2022-2023 also saw the return of our Pub Quiz event- a hugely popular night which provided fun for the wider community whilst raising valuable funds for the preschool. We also ran our annual Easter Egg trail for the village community and raised a record- breaking total from this. Staff and Professional Development Staff training has remained up to date, including paediatric first aid training, SenCO level 3 and NPQLM. Other training opportunities included food hygiene training, maths training and safeguarding training Committee members all undertook Prevent training. |
We said farewell to 2 members of staff and welcomed a new member to the team.

Financial Review
| Financial Review | ||
|---|---|---|
| Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period |
Para 1.21 | Funding income from Bucks County Council was higher this year than last year due to an increase in fee contribution per child plus an increase in the number of children attending the pre-school. Overall, the Pre-School recorded losses of£2104 .These loses are less than previous years. The introduction of a consumables charge have helped to mitigate the increasing costs. Accounts are healthy and the Pre School should benefit from fundraising activities recommencing this academic year. The number of children on roll is also rising which will increase the income from fees and donations. |
| Statement explaining the policy for holding reserves stating why they are held |
Para 1.22 | The charity’s policy is to maintain the equivalent of 3 months operating reserves – approximately £24,000. Cash balances have remained above this amount |
