Chairs Report forAGM 7th Oct 2025
Since our last AGM we have had yet again, another successful year of fundraising. We started
off Ihe academic year with our stall at Sandy Lights where we sold out of our gift bag tombola
and also our sweet winning games.
My child's art also made us some money last year. Each child designed a Christmas themed
picture which then is made into gifts by My Childs art, the parents were able to purchase these
and the company gave a percentage back to the preschool.
Another fundraiser was Textile reclaim, families brought in any clothing and textile items to
donate and the company made payment to the preschool.
We were very lucky again this year to be allowed to run the Tea Rooms at Ickwell May Day. It is
a huge task in organising the event and we wouldn't have been able to do it without all the
volunteers who baked cakes, made sandwiches and served on the day, a big thank you to
everyone involved with a special thanks to Natslie for approaching local businesses for
donations. We managed to raise a really good amount of money and we hope to have the same
Suc￿sS this year.
Fundraising is a massive part of the Committee's role and running events such as the ones just
mentioned, enables us to raise funds which go directly back into the Pre-school and helps to
provide new equipment, reSou￿S and experiences for the children.
This year we have funded Christmas presents for the children which were a htt, each child
received a game given by santa himself. The graduation party had an appearance from captain
fantsstic, this was also funded by the efforts of the committee's fundraising.
In the past year we have had some changes in staffing with Anne being appointed as the new
deputy manager to support Claire. Jo has also been promoted to third in charge, congratulations
to you both. We have also gained our apprentice Isla who is working toward her level 2 in
childcare. We are also due to have Jasmine joining us as a level 3 practitioner, she worked at
the pre-school some years ago and is retuming to us soon.
With the changes in fvnding, we now have more two-year olds on role than ever beft)re, and
numbers are overall higher than they have been in previous Septembers with several sessions
nearing capacity.
The committee and I would like to thank each and every one of the stsff for pulling together
during the past year and for all you do day in, day out for the children in your care. As important
as the fundraising side of things is. without you guys on the ground doing what you do, the
preschool would not be the amazing place it is.
We have had a really suc￿Ssful year and hope the next year has the same success.
Election and resignation of members
I have now been on the Committee for the past year and l am happy to continue in my role as
the chairperson for the foreseeable as Darcie is still here and my son Jude will be attending
from April. Some of our previous committee members are stepping down induding our Treasurer
Tamara due to personal reasons and 2 of our committee members - Sarah and Alison as their
children have moved onto school. We would like to thank them for their help in the previous
year.
That being said we are looking foNard to the next year ahead and would love to have some
more committee members joining us to support in fundraising and making decisions. We come
together once every half temi to discuss future fundraising plans and also have a whatsapp
group for us to share ideas and communicate. You can join as a committee member or if you are
