Objectives and activities
The objects of the charity are to advan￿ the Christian religion in the
United Kingdom and Spain and in such other countries as the Trustees
shall from time to time in their absolute discretion think fit.
Summary ofthe objects ofthe
charity set out in its
governing document
During this year the trustees have raised funds to give grants to
Paraclete Christian Training Centre in Kuwadzana, Zimbabwe to use to
pay salaries for those employed by the training ￿ntre in its Bible School,
crèche and secondary school and also to pay bursaries for those children
at the school whose families cannot afford their school fees. Grants were
also given for the building and equipping of a new office and classroom
block at the Training Centre.
Two trustees visited the Training Centre in January 2024. Whilst
recognising the difficulties of operating in the current economic situation,
the finances of the Centre are fairly healthy and the staff and pupils in
good heart. The secondary school has expanded its pupil numbers and is
operating two teaching sessions each day to accommodate more purpils.
Overseas aid from PCNI and others is still important to the Training
Centre. The Bible School is going well and new training materials from
SEAN have been introduced.
Summary of the main
activities undertaken for the
public benefit in relation to
these objects (include within
this section the statutory
declaration that trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit)
The trustees have also continued to oversee the running of The English
Church in Benidorm, a spiritual home for many English-speaking visitors,
whether short or long term. Revd Trevor Ramsey and his wife Maggie
continue to exercise pastoral responsibility. One of the Trustees visited
after Christmas Attendance by both residents and visitors continues to
increase. Activities at the church have been growing, with good
attendance at seNices and Bible studies and evangelistic activity in the
neighbourhood of the church. There have been baptisms in the sea and a
Christianity Explored course was well attended. The Trustees are grateful
to the Board of Skandinaviska Turistkyrkan Benidorm for continuing to
rent their building to the English Church.
The trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity
Commission on
ublic benefit.
Additional detsils of objectives and activities (Optional information)
The trustees, policy on grant making is only to give grants to
organisations with which they have a personal connection.

Section D
Achievements and erformance
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity
during the year
Twenty-three students are in receipt of bursaries for their secondary
school education at the Training Centre and it is vital that the charity
continues to raise funds for the operating costs of the school and the
centre; so we continue to support as best we can, both financially and
prayerfully. The new material introduced at the Bible School promises to
bear much fruit both locally and further afield.
The English Church in Benidorm continues to minister to the needs of
both residents and visitors. Services are well attended and Trevor and
Maggie Ramsey's oversight of the ministry is much appreciated.
Section E
Financial review
The charity's policy is to maintain sufficient reserves to cover 6 months,
expenditure for the work of the English Church. A significant and
unexpected legacy for the work in Benidorm was received in February.
No reserves are required to be maintained for Zimbabwe, as all gifts are
passed on regularly.
Brief statement of the
charity's policy on reserves
Details of any funds materially
in deficit
Further financial review details {Optional information)
The charity raises funds primarily through donations from concerned
individuals and churches.
