The Trustees, who are also Directors of the Charity for the purposes of the Companies Act present their report and financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 August 2023.

The Trustees have adopted the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) Accounting and Reporting by Charities’ issued in October 2000 in preparing the annual report and financial statements of the Charity.

CONSTITUTION

The Charity is constituted as a company limited by guarantee and is therefore governed by a Memorandum and Articles of Association.

OBJECTIVES

The principal of the Charity is of the provision of facilities to advance public education in Chinese culture, Chinese Mandarin language and traditions. The Charity provides language classes for children and adults as well as organising special Chinese cultural events. It is intended to continue to provide classes and related events and the Charity has sufficient funds for this purpose.

1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES

1.1 BASIS OF PREPARATION OF ACCOUNTS

The accounts are prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice Accounting and Reporting by Charities (SORP 2000) issued in October 2000 applicable accounting standards.

1.2 INCOME

Income represents school fees receivable for classes together with charitable donations and income from other festival activities.

5. STAFF COSTS

No monetary remuneration was paid to the Trustees in the year and no expenses were reimbursed to them either. Their services were totally voluntary.

THE J.F. HUANG MEMORIAL FUND SUMMARY INCOME & EXPENDITURE ACCOUNT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 AUGUST 2023

The J.F. HUANG MEMORIAL FUND account has been closed by the Barclays bank due to lack of use during the pandemic close down period.

All remaining funds have been transferred to the Qing Hua School charitable account.

All Future expenditure on poetry competition and other student prizes will be paid for directly by the Qing Hua School account.
