The trustees present their annual report and financial statements for the year ended 31 December
2023.
Principal activities
The principal activity of the Charity (charity no. 1018991) is to raise fimds for the preservation,
maintenance. restoratio￿ replacemen( improvement or ornamentation of Holy Cross Church,
Sarratt. The Charity holds a number of fund-raising events during the year.
Grants
During the year the Charity made grants of £13,780 (£9.468 - 2022) to the PCC of Holy Cross
Church, Sarratt for the preservation and maintenance of the church.
Preparation of accounts
This report is prepared in accordance with the special provisions of the statements of
recommended prnctice for charities.
Stafrment by the treasurer
In 2023 we held our three major even￿ a reeling evening> th¢ Flower Festival and the Christsnas
Fair; we also held a number of smaller events. A total of £25,325 was raised from ¢v¢nts,
donations. interest and gift aid and we thank all those who have supported the events and those
who made donations. The Friends contributed £6,780 for general repairs and maintenance to the
church and made a donation of £7,000 following The Flower Festival.

Statement of trustees, resEK)nsibilities
Charity law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which
give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Charity and its profit and loss for that
period. In preparing those financial statements, the trustees are required to:

Make judgments and estirnates that are reasonable.
State whether applicable accounting standards have been followel subject to any
material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements.
Prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to
presume that the group will continue in operatio

reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the Charity and to enable them to
ensure that the fjnancial statanents comply with the Statements of Rewmmended Practice for

Basis ofaccounting
The fuwicial statements have been prepared in accordance with applicable
Accounting Standards in the United Kingdom and under the historical cost
convention. The financial statements have also been prepared in compliance with the
Statements of Recommended Practice for Cl)arities.

I report on the accounts of the Charity for the y&qr ended 31 December 2023.
Respective re5ponsibilitiu of trustees and eraminer and basis of report
As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance
with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('tthe Act"). It is my responsibility to:
examine the accounts und¢r Section 145 of the Act
to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity
Commission (under Section 145 (5b) of the Act: and
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Independent Examiner's statement
I have cornpleted my examI￿tion. I confirni that no material matters have come to my attention
in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
(l ) Accounting records were not kept in r¢sp¢ct of the Charity as required by section 130
of the Act. or
(2) the accounts do not accord with those records or
(3) th¢ accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the fonn and
content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008
other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair view" which is not a
matt¢r considered as part of an independent e￿amination.
I have no concerns and have come across no Oth￿ matters in connection with the examination
to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of
the accounts to be reached.
