Obiectives and Aims

The aims of the preschool are to enhance the development of the children primarily under statutory school age, in a parent involving, community-based group. They do this by offering a safe, secure and stimulating environment, working within a framework that ensures equality of opportunity for all children and families.

As a committee we oversee the management of Preschool with monthly meetings which include discussions with the Preschool manager about the day to day running of the Preschool setting. As a committee we are responsible for policy and procedures and these are discussed to ensure the high standard of the Preschool is maintained at all times including the guidelines of Ofsted.

## Achievements and performance

This has been another tough year for our dedicated and hardworking staff at craven arms preschool as the covid pandemic continued. the staff have worked tirelessly to try and stay open through out and give the children who attend our setting the stability they need. we have continued to offer a safe secure and stimulating environment where children continue to learn and thrive.

Craven arms preschool has continued to provide affordable accessible childcare and our numbers continue to grow This has shown that there is a real need for the service that we provide within the community. We have employed another member of staff to help with our growing numbers and regularly have students from the local college come to our setting for work experience.

We, the committee very glad to get back to fundraising at the end of last year and had a very successful Bingo night where all proceeds raised were used to carry on our continued improvement of our outside area the last year saw us able to provide the setting with new fencing and security gates, AstroTurf and new playhouse and sandpit.

We as a committee are looking forward to continuing with our fundraising and organising new and exciting experiences for the children in our setting and to continue improving the outside space.

Activities are provided for both indoors and outdoors enabling children to play alongside other children, encouraging their social development.

Our committee is made up of parents and volunteers from the local community and we have continued to work hard to support the staff in our preschool We currently have children on the register, these are made up of local children within the Craven arms area.

We have received several large donations from the local community, which shows what an asset Craven Arms Preschool is to Craven Arms.

We continue to be part of the r childcare tax scheme account and have set up a new system where parents are sent their invoices online which is working well. Our principal source of funding is provided by both funded and non-funded child placements using schemes including ‘24u’ and 15 and 30 hours funded places for 3-year-olds additional income comes through fundraising and we encourage all parents to get involved with helping to do that.

## Reserves

Our policy states that we must have the cash requirement to 3 months' worth of normal running costs and expenses. Any surplus is used for the benefit of the preschool including but not limited to repairs, replacements and internal/ external projects which are discussed and agreed by the committee.

The Preschool currently has no funds in deficit

In 2022 we will continue to work hard to support the staff and children within the setting. we hope to continue with our fundraising and have several exciting ideas of events we are planning to do. As restriction lift, we also look forward to being able to take the children out for days out.
