Review of the year
Propety income increased due to more users of the Hall and costs dipped slighty. leaving a surplus of £2.483
(2024 £588) on the designated fund for the year and £13.321 held ovef against future property costs {2024 £10.8381.
In addition lo income of £14,444 (2024 £18.710) and realised profits on <lisposals of £59412024 losses of £28,227),
the movemenl on the unrealised profits in the portfolio in the year was a loss of £1.645 {2024 surplus of £57,291).
The market value of the listed investrnents was £713.4￿ (2024 £724,692) at the year end.
As well as grants covering the capitation fees to the National Scout Association of the groups within the fomer
Southside District, The South5ide Trust also made grants in the year to those groups for ￿nt in¢urred.
The accounts have been drawn up on a basis that is consistent wlh previous years.

This report is on the accounts of The Southside Trust for the year ended 31 March 2025.

and that an independent examination is needed.

Basis of independent examinefs rnport
My examination was carried out in accordance wilh the general Di￿￿10n$ given by the Chanty
Regulators. The examinakn'on indudes a review of the accountr.ng records kept by the charity and a
omparison of the accounts presente(J wrth those records. 11 also indudes consideration of any unusual
items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees conceming any such
matters. The procedures undertaken thj not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit.

The Kath Skillen Bequest was made by a fomier ADC Cub Scouts and has no speufic purpose.
The Aex Walker Bequest is used to enable members of the Oisthcl to attend camps that they would not
otherwise be able lo afford. Grants are made at the th"scretion of the Districl Execub've.
A portion of the total Inte￿$1 has been allocated lo these funds n¢M statements are available.
3. Dosignated Funds
The Designated Fund accounts for the income and expendilufe on the leasehold building on
Balham High Road and a small plol of land adjacent to Downe Nats"onal Scout Centre known as Strakes Shaw.
Following the sale of the freehold, a lease of 999 years was granted to The Southside Trust lo use the ground floor
of the new building as the Southside District Centre. The lease expl￿$ in 3LTh)8 and the t)Jrrenl rent is £1 pa.
