## **Trustees Report 2020**

2020 was an extraordinary year for us all.

North Watford has come through with flying colours…in my opinion.

Whilst Face to Face Scouting was not possible we very quickly galvanised and used technology to ensure that the District stayed alive, survived the tsunami of COVID-19 and looked forwards. This was necessary for us all not just to get through the difficult times but to ensure that all the work of years gone by was not in vain and that isolation did not take over.

District Executive meetings were run through Zoom and none were missed! A steep learning curve for many but everyone rose to the challenge. As a result, the members of this very hardworking and dedicated Team were able to support the Groups and their Leaders.

Meetings were held through Zoom on other levels too until Face to Face meetings could be resumed. Celebrations were marked in different ways but with innovative thought emphasising yet again the passion and commitment from everyone in the District. At such a time no one person should be highlighted because everyone tried really hard but thanks must go to David Collette our exceptional District Commissioner who was there for us all.

The District Executive has a strong Team and my thanks to everyone who makes time to ensure that the District is connected and supported. It was so important through 2020.

The biggest thank you goes to each and every one of our Leaders who lead, prepare and guide the youngsters in their care, giving their time freely and with such enthusiasm and dedication. Our numbers have come back strongly and the District prospers - COVID-19 will become a historical landmark but hopefully soon a distant memory.
