For an adult who los&s vision later in Ilfe, the goals are lo help the individual live as Independently as possible,
Indlvlduals with visual impairment can overcome the obstacles to bllndne8s wllh support and learning Skills to
compensate for vision loss. Even If they cannot live independently, belng independent In self-care will lake Some of
burden off the careglvers as well as help visually Impalred Indivlduals lo feel a sense of dignity.

O&M r8fer8 to training that enables blind and visually impaired individuals lo learn to travel safely wlthin their
community. Specialized instruction will allow the Blind person lo learn safe lechnique5 for crossing streets, using
can&s and accessing public transportation. Blind people who are Interested In obtalning a gulde dog are assisted
through the applicatlon procèss and given trainlng to acqualnl them wlth ori&nt8lion onco th6y obtain a guide dog.
This program is imptemented on a one-on-one basis In th8 beneficlarls home, community, work place or school.

Restricted funds are subject to speciflc conditions by donors or grantors as to how they may be used. The
purposes and u8es of the restricted funds are set out in the notes to the financial slatements,
