REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31[st] DECEMBER 2023

The total income for the year was £35,227 and after expenditure of £37,646, the loss for the year was £2419. This, when added to the General Fund at the beginning of the year of £29,631.23 has resulted in total funds of £27,212.92 being available for future grants.

STRUCTURE

The Trust is governed by its Trust Deed dating from 18[th] December 1992.

There are currently 4 Trustees (The Deed states there shall be a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 7). Appointment of Trustees is governed by the Trust Deed and The Board of Trustees is authorised to appoint new trustees to fill vacancies arising through resignation or death of an existing Trustee.

AIMS

The advancement of remedial training and physical education for people who are disabled, physically or mentally handicapped, or are deprived of such training or education by poverty, social or economic circumstances.

ACTIVITIES

There was one major fund-raising dinner undertaken during the year – supporting the Fred Trueman /R66T Academy State Schools Leagues.

GRANTS

Grants totalling £9,000 were made during the year for the support of the MCC (girl’s) Hub at Felsted (£5,000) and Arundel Castle Cricket Foundation (£4,000) and supporting ‘Ekil’ an Afghan refugee who came to the UK to play cricket and become a coach and funding/supporting the Fred Trueman /R66T Academy State Schools Leagues.

RESERVES

We hold cash of £27,212.92 all of which is in unrestricted funds at the Bank.

Report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 31[st] December 2023 set out on pages 3 and 4.

RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES OF TRUSTEES AND EXAMINER

The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31[st] December 2023.

As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Cricket Society Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

NOTES TO THE ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31[st] DECEMBER 2023

1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES

These Accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with applicable accounting standards and the Charities SORP (Statement of Recommended Practice: “Accounting by Charities”).

2. GRANTS

The Trust made two grants during the year, in furtherance of the principal aim of the Trust.
