REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31[st] DECEMBER 2021
The total income for the year was £36,084.89 and after expenditure of £33,714.40, the surplus for the year was £2,370.49. This, when added to the General Fund at the beginning of the year of £23,399.69 has resulted in total funds of £25,770.18 being available for future grants.
STRUCTURE
The Trust is governed by its Trust Deed dating from 18[th] December 1992.
There are currently 4 Trustees (The Deed states there shall be a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 7). Appointment of Trustees is governed by the Trust Deed and The Board of Trustees is authorised to appoint new trustees to fill vacancies arising through resignation or death of an existing Trustee.
AIMS
The advancement of remedial training and physical education for people who are disabled, physically or mentally handicapped, or are deprived of such training or education by poverty, social or economic circumstances.
ACTIVITIES
There was one major fund-raising activity undertaken during the year – a lunch in the Long Room in the Pavilion at Lords in November.
GRANTS
Grants totalling £24,000 were made during the year for the sponsorship of cricket coaching for children with learning difficulties at Arundel Castle Cricket Foundation (£4,000) and for support of the MCC (girl’s) Hub at Felsted (£5,000) and the MCC (girl’s) Hubs in Birmingham and Guildford (£15,000 to cover three years).
RESERVES
We hold cash of £25,770.18 all of which is in unrestricted funds at the Bank.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF THE CRICKET SOCIETY TRUST
Report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 31[st] December 2021 set out on pages 3 and 4.
RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES OF TRUSTEES AND EXAMINER
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts.
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31[st] December 2021.
As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Cricket Society Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or
-
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
• the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

NOTES TO THE ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31[st] DECEMBER 2021
1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES
These Accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with applicable accounting standards and the Charities SORP (Statement of Recommended Practice: “Accounting by Charities”).
2. GRANTS
The Trust made three grants during the year, in furtherance of the principal aim of the Trust.
Grants totalling £24,000 were made during the year for the sponsorship of cricket coaching for children with learning difficulties at Arundel Castle Cricket Foundation (£4,000) and for support of the MCC (girl’s) Hub at Felsted (£5,000) and the MCC (girl’s) Hubs in Birmingham and Guildford (£15,000 to cover three years), for the provision of cricket coaching for state school girls.
3. TRUSTEES’ REMUNERATION AND EXPENSES
No remuneration directly or indirectly out of the funds of the charity was paid or payable for the year to any trustee or to any person or persons known to be connected with any of them.

No reimbursement of expenses has been made or is due to be made to any of the trustees in respect of the year.
