Membership and Charity Structure
Membership of the Friends is deemed to extend to all stall, teaching and non-teaching, and all parents and carers of children currently attending John Ball school and John Ball nursery
The charity holds an Annual General Meeting (AGM) in the first half of the autumn term each year which is open to all members of the school and trustees meet every term.
The Trustees are elected annually at the AGM in accordance with the constitution, and the trustees for the year ended 31 July 2024 were:

Objectives
The objective of the Friends Charity is to advance the education of the pupils in the school. In Furtherance of this objective the Association may:
a. Develop relationships between the staff, parents and the others associated with the school.
b. Engage in activities with the support of the school and advance the education of the pupils attending it.
c. Provide and assist in the provision of facilities for the education at the school.

The charity runs a variety of events throughout the school year to raise funds for John Ball School:

Other fundraising efforts include, easyfundraising, PayrollGiving..
The Charity has with the support of the parents and volunteers raised a phenomenal amount of £54,567 from fundraising and organising events. This is an increase of over £10k from previous year. This does not include the very generous donation of £100k restricted funds for the construction of a sports hall in John Ball Primary School.

The biggest fundraising event was:
The London to Paris (adult) sponsored bike ride raised £11k and the Heath for Health raised £10k this year, this increase is with the help of a few parents and their company's Match Funding incentives.
The charity has also had a very generous donation of £100k for the building of a Sports Hall at John Ball School. The school is currently performing a preliminary consultation on the site.
Our events are only possible with the support of volunteers. The charity would like to pass on our particular gratitude to all the new parents who stepped up and took charge of the events. We were so impressed to see so many families hosting stalls at the summer and Christmas fairs, with children involved from all years of John Ball, and the year 6 students from 2023-24 donated some funds from their end of year enterprise event. We would not be able to host so many events without the fabulous support of the staff at John Ball primary school particularly those in the facilities, office, catering and teaching teams. Finally, we have continued support from local business Hamptons who sponsor the Heath for Health and Easter Egg signs, and many firms who have donated prizes to our festive Christmas raffle and summer tombola. A tombola prize sponsored by Tidylicious was recently donated to the John Ball Friends and they were spotted helping to organise the JB Friends shed!
Over this coming year, we would like to encourage the John Ball community to make greater use of Easy FundRaising and where possible, Match Funding. Easy FundRaising raised £504. We would like to especially mention the following companies who were able to offer matched funding in 2023-24 through parents/guardian volunteers; Legal & General, RBS, Jones Laing totaling £8,500.

School Funding
For the financial year-end 2023-2024, John Ball Primary school requested fundings of £40,368 these include fundings for:
A contribution of £10 to each child for school trips
Purchase of the year 6 leavers’ book for each child in year 6
