## **Structure, Governance and Management** 

THE OAKDALE JUNIOR SCHOOL PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION is a registered charity established to support the education and wellbeing of pupils at Oakdale Junior School. The charity is managed by a committee of trustees elected in accordance with the association's constitution. 

Trustees meet regularly throughout the year to oversee the charity's activities, finances, and governance. 

## **Objectives and Activities** 

The charity's objectives are to advance the education of pupils attending Oakdale Junior School by: 

- Engaging in activities that support and advance the education and wellbeing of pupils. 

- Raising funds to provide facilities, equipment, and opportunities that are not normally provided through school budgets.  The focus has been on raising enough to start redeveloping the front playground with multi use games apparatus which will benefit the children at break and playtime, as well as during physical education lessons within the curriculum. 

During the year, the PTFA organised a range of fundraising and community events including: 

- Discos 

- Christmas and Summer fetes 

- Holi colour run 

- Bake and ice lolly sales 

Funds raised were used to support projects and activities that directly benefited pupils and the school community. 

## **Achievements and Performance** 

The PTFA successfully delivered a programme of fundraising and community engagement activities throughout the year. 

Key achievements included: 



- Raising over £10,000 through fundraising initiatives to put towards our goal of a new playground. 

- Funding magazine subscriptions for the library costing £594, and book allowances for teacher’s classrooms. 

- Supporting school activities including the Christmas pantomime performance (£500 towards fees) and gardening supplies for the Forest School (£166) 

- 

   - Increasing engagement from parents, carers, and local community members. 

- New events such as the Holi Colour Run which was a huge success that the children really enjoyed. 

The trustees believe these activities have made a positive contribution to the educational experience and wellbeing of pupils at the school. 

## **Financial Review** 

Total income for the year was £27,578.02 generated through fundraising events, donations, and other activities. 

Total expenditure for the year was £15,732.62, including funding for educational resources, events, and operating costs. 

The trustees consider the charity's financial position to be satisfactory and sufficient to support its planned activities of proceeding to plan towards the front playground redevelopment. 

## **Plans for the Future** 

In the coming year, the PTFA intends to: 

- Continue to organise fundraising and community events. 

- Increase volunteer participation. 

- Develop new fundraising opportunities to maximise support for pupils – use of local businesses.

For the year ended **31 August 2025** 

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of **THE OAKDALE JUNIOR SCHOOL PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION** for the year ended 31 August 2025. 

Responsibilities and Basis of Report 

As the charity trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011. 

I report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 and, in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission. 

An independent examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. 

The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a true and fair view. 

Independent Examiner's Statement 

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect: 

- accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act 2011; or 

- the accounts do not accord with the accounting records. 

I have no matters to which I consider attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
