The financial year 2020/2021 was an unprecedented year for the Village Hall due to the Coronavirus pandemic. 

The Village Hall started the year on 1[st] April 2020 with a balance of £12,608.45 however the Village Hall had been closed since 18[th] March 2020. 

The Village Hall were successful in receiving grant funding for the sum of £41,689.37 during the financial year. 

Along with this funding the Village Hall also received furlough funding for three members of staff for the sum of £2,111.56. 

During this period of Covid-19 the Village Hall were allowed to reopen for a short amount of time before the country was put back into lockdown, this resulted in £997 being received by regular hirers that were able to return to their groups under their governing bodies guidelines, £8668 received from the Pre-School and £692 in private hire booking deposits. 

During the pandemic the Trustee approved the purchase of a website for the Village Hall. The bookings secretary updated this through lockdown to increase the presence online. 

Successful grant funding from Awards for All saw the construction of a bike shelter in the Village Hall carpark. 

Monthly running costs were still paid during the period closure along with any contingency repairs that were required. 

The total outgoings for the financial year were £35,985.00 

The Village Hall Trust continued to meet remotely via Microsoft Teams to conduct any financial business for the Village Hall and to review any policies that may have required updating. 

In conclusion even though 2020/2021 was a very quiet year for the Village Hall, the bookings secretary still received bookings for events to be held in 2021/2022 and beyond. 

The Village Hall continues to thrive and is truly a hub of the community.
