## **OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES** 

The Balham Pentecostal Church (BPC) or **'the Church'** is a registered Christian charity and has been in operation since 1972. The Aim of the Charity is the advancement of the Christian Religion as declared by our Lord Jesus Christ and His Apostles. 

The BPC's objectives are to promote the evangelical, pastoral and social agenda of the Church: to establish a place of worship accessible to Born Again Christians and those who wish to practise the Christian Religion in the community of Balham and surrounding communities. 

The BPC plan to achieve this through: 

- The promotion and advancement of the Christian Religion through personal and street evangelism. 

- To provide assistance wherever and whenever with the spiritual financial and personal needs of the community. 

- To encourage and build up the spiritual needs of fellow Christians. 

- To promote Christian fellowship 

- To provide a place of worship for Christians and members of the community who wishes to practice the Christian faith. 

- To assist in the relief of poverty whenever and wherever necessary. 

## **Activities** 

The BPC facilitates a centre for Christian worship. During the period of 2023/24 The Church offered a range of activities of which the trustees considered to be beneficial to the spiritual needs of its members and to the wider community. These activities includes 

## **Word in Life** 

Word in life sessions are aim at challenging the believer towards spiritual maturity. These sessions last for approximately two hours on Sunday mornings between the hours of 11am and 1pm, and are design to help individual in the advancement of their spiritual growth. 

## **Bible Studies** 

Bible study classes are run every Thursday night between the hours of 6pm and 9pm. These classes are open to fellow Christian as well as non-Christians. All lessons are

based on the Holy Scriptures and are taught by the Pastor of the church, and are designed to bring about Christian maturity. 

## **Prayer Meetings** 

Prayer meetings are held every Tuesday night between the hours of 6pm and 9pm, and are open to Christian and non-Christian members of the community. They can of course present their personal needs by means of prayer. 

## **Worship Services** 

Sunday mornings from 1:15pm to 3pm and again from 6:30pm to 9pm and are open to Christian and those who would like to come in and worship the Lord Jesus as their Saviour. 

## **Evangelism** 

Evangelism is the main channel of propagating the Christian religion, it is also the great commission given to the Christian church by our Lord Jesus 

## **FINANCIAL REVIEW** 

The Charity’s combined income for 2023/24 was £54,752.00 this largely made up of Tithe and offering.  The combined expenditure for this period was £49,691.88of which £32,016.11 is relating to refurbishment work both at the Church and at 154 Frant. 

## **PLANS FQR THE FUTURE** 

- To continue to work with all members of the community to educate them on how to be responsible citizens. 

- To continue to minister the Gospel through personal and group evangelism, which is the charity’s primary objectives. 

- To have the housing project at 154 Frant Road completed, as this is earmarked for accommodation for the homeless. 

- To offer aid and support where necessary to members of the community suffering hardship through poverty.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31 **/ 03 / 2024** . 

**Responsibilities and** As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the **basis of report** accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of  the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
