-
Fence materials cost went out, which was big cost but well worth it (labour supplied FOC.)
-
Decrease in fundraising due to Covid, funding raised through an online Xmas Raffle and Summer Raffle.
-
Amazonsmile has brought some funds in - worth a mention to parents again.
-
£61,780.47 end of year balance.
-
Dikes gave preschool a £1000 donation through ‘Making a difference locally’ funding.
8. Managers Report:
-
Thanks to all attendees, it was disappointing that the meeting was only attended by current committee members, staff and one parent.
-
We currently have 30 children on register, 18 over 3’s , 12 under 3 yr olds, even though we have less children this year, especially the school cohort group the higher number of 2 year olds require a higher staff ratio, new starters due January’22.
-
It has been a challenging year with Covid concerns still at the forefront of all we do, we’ve seen staff changes and absences throughout the year, Kirsty left us to concentrate on her woodwork business, Carly joined us in May, bringing with her a number of years of experience in previous settings, Cora has completed her L3 apprenticeships, congratulations Cora and Grace is now on maternity leave and we are expecting to hear exciting news any day now.
-
Thanks to staff for their unwavering dedication to our Pre-School and children, they come in and just get on with the job in hand, leaving their concerns over Covid at the door as they continue to care and give attention to our children, particularly through the recent rise in the community cases which has made it all seem more ‘real’ than perhaps it did.
-
Changes to EYFS framework, staff met during the holiday to look at this and plan a curriculum, hopefully parents have taken the time to look at the information sent out.
-
30 children moved on to school, it was lovely to be able to run our leavers sports morning and to present them with their leavers bags but once again we took the decision not to organise a leavers trip, we hope that we will be in a better position next year to be able to do this. We had 14 returning children and 16 have joined us from September.
-
Covid-19 – We continue to update and follow our Action Plan as necessary, Thank you to parents for following guidelines, we do appreciate you have respected our decision to ask for a negative PCR result before we allow a child in from a positive household even though this isn’t the government guidance but feel this is helping to keep everyone safe and limit the risk of transmission the best we can, we also thank parents for choosing to keep children at home if someone else in the household is waiting for a PCR test result or if they have general cold symptoms.
-
Thanks to the committee for fundraising completed virtually this year and hopefully we will be able to hold more face to face fundraising events this year. Thanks to Charlotte for the help in setting up online facilities to run the online Xmas Raffle and committee for requesting prizes. Funds this year have gone towards a new water/sand tray + various measuring/capacity resources, a swing bar and outdoor posters, the fencing has also been replaced as the wooden fence posts were beginning to rot.
-
Thank you to the Officers and members for their supportive role this year, helping to make and back up decisions with regards to staffing and Covid-19.
