The Charity is a Christian church which has met at various venues in the Borough of Reigate and Banstead and may meet and function as one or several bodies in other places for the worship of God, the instruction and edification of Christians, the care and Christian instruction of young people and children and the evangelisation of non-Christians, the relief of sickness and poverty and the advancement of the Christian faith generally.

The Fellowship is led by a church leader, who makes decisions with input from church members, as to how the Fellowship can best attain its objectives so that God is honoured in all things. The church leader represents and serves the members and has the responsibility of the day to day running and development of the Fellowship within the objectives of the trust.

The Trustees work alongside the church leader, liaising in the financing of activities and causes to best attain the objectives of the Fellowship. However, the Trustees have a duty as to the application of the charitable funds of the Fellowship in a manner that is transparent and accountable to donors, beneficiaries and the public by keeping their information on the public register up to date.

Redhill Christian Fellowship is an independent fellowship which is a member of the Evangelical Alliance and is part of Churches Together in Redhill and District. The Fellowship operates a Safeguarding policy for children and vulnerable adults.

Paul Puzey was elected Fellowship leader on 4[th] November 2007, together with his wife Hermione.

The trustees see participation within the community and representation of the Christian perspective to the wider community as a central part of the Fellowship’s role, to which end the trustees have complied with the duty in section 4 of the Charities Act 2006 to have due regard to the public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission.

Redhill Christian Fellowship has been active throughout the year. The Fellowship offers open and public meetings every Sunday from 10.30 am – 1.00 pm at the Harlequin theatre within the Warwick Quadrant area of Redhill town centre and various other meetings throughout the week.

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**

It offers public services of worship, biblical instruction and teaching, children’s facilities and the encouragement of one another and any visitors. The Fellowship’s presence at the Harlequin has provided financial income and wider social relevance for the Theatre at a time of change and regeneration.

From 20[th] June 2021 RCF re-opened public meetings at the Harlequin with COVID-19 distancing and safety controls in place but has also offered access to meetings via Zoom for those who are isolating or unable to attend.

## **Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)**

You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about:

- policy on grantmaking;

- policy programme related investment;

- contribution made by volunteers.

The Fellowship has taken part in a number of public activities representing the Christian community including the ongoing Redhill Street Pastors project, which is part of a well-known Christian project coordinated by Ascension Trust. Redhill Christian Fellowship played a major role in initiating the Street Pastors project coming to Redhill in September 2009, with Paul Puzey chairing the management committee of this cross denominational community project, in cooperation with Surrey Police and Reigate and Banstead Borough Council.

The Fellowship continues to cooperate with local Christian bodies for outreach in the town including continuing support toward the costs of schools workers for the Sparkfish project. Sparkfish provides Christian children and youth support to a number of local schools. Hermione Puzey is a Trustee for Sparkfish.

The Fellowship also supports a food-bank in St Matthews. The Fellowship is involved with the activities of Churches Together in Redhill and District, which Paul Puzey Chairs.
