We seek to make the basic scientific information on birds more correctly and completely available to ornithologists in Asia where library resources are wholly inadequate and where museum collections of reference materials are few, modest in size and difficult to sustain due to economic and/or cultural factors. we achieve this mainly through publication.

Objects: The Charity Shall Have As Its Objects: Firstly, The Advancement Of Education By Means Of Research And Adding To The Collective Body Of Knowledge Concerning Birds Of The World And Their Significance Within Their Ecosystems, In Particular In The Field Of Avian Systematics (And Education Of The Public In The United Kingdom And Abroad By Making Available The Useful Results Thereof By Any Means); Secondly, The Advancement Of Education By Means Of Furthering The Education And Understanding Of The Public (In The United Kingdom And Abroad) Concerning Birds And Their Ecosystems And In Particular In The Field Of Avian Systematics; And Thirdly, The Promotion Of The Conservation Protection And Improvement Of The Natural Environment Including Through Such Research Whose Outputs Are Used To Prioritise And Secure The Conservation Of Birds And Their Ecosystems For The Benefit Of Mankind; In The Case Of Each Such Object Solely To The Extent That IT Is A Charitable Purpose Under English Law, All Such Charitable Purposes To Be In All Respects Construed According To The Laws Of England And Wales From Time To Time.
