Law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the Trustees to prepare financial statcmeDts for eacli financial year, which give a true and fair view of the Charity's fillan¢ial activities during the year and of its financial position at the end of the year. In preparing those financial statements, the Trnstees are required to.. select suitable accounting policies and then apply thcm consistently,. observe the methods and principles of the applicable Charities SORP. make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent,. stale whether applicable accounting standards and statements of rccommended practice have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the fu￿ClaI statements. prepare the fin8ncial statements on a going concern basis unless it is inappropriatc to presume that the Charity will continue in operation. BICESTER SPIIUTUALIST CHURCH SECRETARY'S Af4NUAL REPORT FOR THE PEiUOD Ef4DED 31sf DECEMBER 2025 BSC and The Clifton Centre is a very special place which is used by mally community groups: U3A. BicesleT Local History Society (BLHS), Creative Dance, Bicesler WI, Real Results, Oxfordshire Motor-Bike club, Slirnming World and occasioually by the Illstl￿te of Motorbikes Asso¢i21ion (IMA}. BSC also leases part of the building to King5 End Association Club whose lease is reviewed annually. BSC use the premises every Sunday. Monday, most Saturdays with the odd day and evening evellts. The Church celebrates events such as Easter, Remembran¢e Sunday and hold a Carol Servicc and Christmas Raffle amjually. The Clairvoyant evenings are with intcrnational and local mediums, 1-2-1 Coffee and Cake aftemoons and of course every Sunday our Divinc Service with mediums generally from England and Wales. BSC also rnn healing and development groups, the most recent gmup which commenced their studies in January 2024 completed their course in August and September 2025 and we are proud to say that all the healers passed with flying colours and very high marks. Open Circles are run monthly with Tony Plowman and Maureen Braham in accordancc with our conslitulion. Membcrs of tbe congregation are offerillg to give address and readillgs. there is also a piece of reflective music which the congregation choose. BSC held the service for the Ordination of Simou Bosher and the Vow Renewal ceremony for Jess and John Taylor all metnbers of BSC and the certificate ccremony for the qualified hcalcrs. Minister Adrian Demiey and Minister Judith Plowman officiated at these ceremonies. Robert Gooch and Tony Plowman (both Custodial Ttustees) ensure that the value of the property is not diminjshed and continue lo maintaitL the buildings and cotnputer systems by keeping Ihe costs to Ihe minimum by carrying out the repairs where legally pennitted themselves. Works that have been catTied out during 2025 are in general the official inspections: fire alarni system. electrical systems and security. To ty and reduce the electrical use the whole building lighting system was changcd to LED lighting and further in the kitchen. toilets and entrance hall changed to sensor lighting. BSC is in the process of reviewing the H&S Policy and Fire Evacuation Procedures all should be omplele by September 2026 and will be issued to all users of the premises. BSC are very grate￿1 for all the help they are given to ensure that the BSC and The Clifton Centre jobs are covered and that all tbe events are run efficiently and smoothly. BSC bopes lo continue ils journey and promises to allow all visitors to enjoy th¢ ambiance of the Church and hall and goitLg fonvard hopes to put on mally more ￿entS in 2026. All suggestions are considered.
