Objects and Governing Document
The charty was founded in 1984 to administer the funds held for charitable purposes by
the Rotary Club ofsaffron Walden.
The Trust Deed empower5 the Trustees to hold monies re￿iVed upon trust to apply both
capital and Income for such charitable objerts as the Trustees may in their absolute
discretion declde having regard to

Any direction given by the Business Council of Saffron Walden Rotary Club
The Trust Deed was amended on 22 June 2016 to incorporate current best prartice for the
operation of the Trust .
Appolntment of Trustees
Trustees are apF)ointed by the members ofsaffron Walden Rotary Club. The maximum
number of trustees is S ond minimum 3 . Trustees hold office for a term of 5 year5 and
may be re-appointed . The existing Trustees were all re- appointed in March 2021.
Revlew of the year
The level of activlty was again very buoyant .
The major fund raising event wa5 a GOW Day with nett proceeds of £ 10.3Q) used for
Club Charitable actlvities.
£ 3,000 of the £ s,(￿0 from the Estate of Donald Purkiss has been used .
Further events were organised to raise funds for Ukraine .
The Christmas Street Collection raised funds in excess of £ 5.5iXI with the proceeds
given to support local Charitie5.
Accounts
The Accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basi5 as in previous years
and in accordance with 8uidance i55ued by the Charities Comrni$5ion.
Voluntary Support .
The Charity relies on the voluntary Servi￿$ of its T￿￿ee5 and of the Rotsrians of Saffton
Walden Rotary Club.

The Charity's Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance

The Charity's Trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under the Act,
guidance but that an independent examination is needed

Basls of Independent Examlner's Ststement
My examinatlon was carrled out in accordance with general directions from the Charity
Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the
Charlty and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes
consideration of any unusuèl Items or disclosures in the accounts,and seeking
explanations from the Trustees concerning such matters . The procedures undertaken
do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an Audit and . consequentlyi
nooplnio Is glven as to whethwe the accounts present a "true and fair view ' and the
report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
