**Activities:** The Kirkgate Centre is a multi-purpose arts centre which provides facilities for education and leisure, with the object of improving the conditions of life of the local people. The Centre provides a diverse programme of performing arts as well as a venue for local performers, adult education classes, youth theatre and other groups. It is also the base for the Cockermouth Museum Group.
