**Objects:** A) TO RELIEVE ANY CHILDREN, YOUNG PERSONS OR VULNERABLE ADULTS AND THE FAMILIES AND CARERS OF SUCH PERSONS WHO ARE IN NEED OF CARE OR PROTECTION BY THE PROVISION OF ADVICE REPRESENTATION ASSISTANCE AND LEGAL AND OTHER SERVICES WHICH WOULD NOT OTHERWISE BE AVAILABLE EITHER BY REASON OF THEIR OWN CIRCUMSTANCES OR BECAUSE OF THE POVERTY OF THEIR PARENTS GUARDIANS FOSTER PARENTS OR THOSE OTHERWISE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR CARE AND PROTECTION.  B) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC ON ALL ASPECTS OF CHILD CARE LAW, SOCIAL WORK PRACTICE AND FAMILY POLICY AND HUMAN RIGHTS  C) TO INITIATE, PROMOTE AND CARRY OUT RESEARCH INTO THE UPBRINGING, EDUCATION, CARE AND PROTECTION OF CHILDREN, YOUNG PERSONS, VULNERABLE ADULTS AND OTHERS IN NEED AND THEIR FAMILIES  AND TO EVALUATE RESEARCH MATERIAL WHETHER INITIATED BY THE TRUST OR NOT AND TO DISSEMINATE INFORMATION LIKELY TO BE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE WELFARE OF CHILDREN, YOUNG PERSONS, VULNERABLE ADULTS AND OTHERS IN NEED AND THEIR FAMILIES.

**Activities:** NYAS is a socio-legal charity providing advice, advocacy, information and legal advice to children, young people and vulnerable adults.  NYAS also provides Independent Visitors who befriend children in care, and we undertake Regulation 44 visits of children homes. Under Rule 16.4 of the Family Proceedings Act we represent children and young people in private law family proceedings.
