CREATIVE COMMUNICATION TRUST Annual Report for the year ended 30th June 2022

The Creative Communication Trust is constituted by Deed of Trust and is a registered Charity no. 1012007. Its address is at 8, Lindisfarne, Biddick, Washington, Tyne & Wear NE38 7JR.

The charity trustees during the year to 30th June 2022 were Mr Tom Baker (treasurer), Revd. Ian Kent, Mr Doug Green, Mrs Ruth Grant, Mr Christopher Neufeld, Mrs Keira Batchelor, Mr Andrew Batchelor.

The non-trustee officers of the charity were: Revd. Rob Bianchi (chief officer) and Revd. Margaret Bianchi (secretary)

Objects of the charity are: (i) to advance the Christian religion in any part of the world (ii) to advance religious education in accordance with the doctrines and principles of the Christian faith by working amongst young people in order to further the communication of the Christian faith and in particular: (a) by encouraging and initiating sports activities amongst children and young people in inner city areas and (b) through the medium of the performing arts.

The trustees' policy is to fulfil the aims of the charity through the appointment of Revds. Rob and Margaret Bianchi, for whom the trustees provide regular financial support to enable them to undertake non-income generating work to achieve the objects of the Trust. The current policy of the trustees is to concentrate on advancing the Christian religion through the medium of outdoor activities.

To achieve this a programme has been set up entitled "Outdoor Adventure Development Ministries" under which most of the work is taking place.

Below is a summary of the work undertaken during 2021-2022:

In Romania ODM continues to be conduit to send money to support local projects. In Moldova, most financial support comes from churches in the Cheam area (in Surrey). This has been divided into 3 categories for donations (rural, Arca and support of Eduard). When the war broke out in Ukraine, in February 2022, ODM raised nearly £100,000 to support Ukrainian refugees in both Romania and Moldova. In Romania, Spirit Euxin used the money to help find schools for refugee children, make appointments for adults and coordinate support for refugees in the area. In Moldova, £500 a day was given by ODM to buy essential supplies for refugees and fuel to take these resources where they were needed.

In Burundi, financial support by ODM continues to be used to provide lifesaving and first aid training. The money also continues to pay the wages of 2 members of staff, run a minibus and youth camps. It has been agreed that ODM will continue to support the projects in Burundi for another 5 years, using money from the general fund as well as donations specifically for Burundi, after which the project will need to seek alternative funding.

In the UK, the Blaithwaite camps have moved to a new site. The bursary fund continues to operate and 3 places were funded at a cost of £750. Money was also provided for minibus training for one of the leaders. A parent asked if they could donate to the fund so it is hoped other parents may donate in the future.

Also no schools work took place this year, Ian Kent would like to expand this area of work in the future when time permits. There were no other work/events supported by ODM in the UK.

Trustees

The trustees acknowledge that Rob Bianchi is personally insured for the activities he undertakes and when he works for other bodies (e.g. Ventures) comes under their insurance provision. Furthermore, the trustees acknowledge that Creative Communication Trust has no assets or debts. In completing a risk assessment, the trustees agreed that any risk is related to activities for which Rob Bianchi is insured, and that this therefore presents little financial risk to the trustees.

The trustees meet 3 times per year, twice virtually on Zoom and once in person. It was agreed Rob and Margaret Bianchi should receive a 6% pay rise to cover the rise in the cost of living,

Administration jobs, previously completed by Margaret Bianchi, are being allocated to other trustees before Margaret retires.

Finance

Total income received amounted to £127,997.79 and expenditure was £105.332.90. This is significantly higher than in previous years due to the money raised for Ukranian refugees. A CafCash current a/c operates for current a/c transactions, the excess from the Lloyds/TSB deposit a/c being transferred into this a/c.
