## ANNUAL REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES

FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31ST JULY 2023

The FRA had an increase in activity and raised net income of £8,529 for the twelve months ending 31st July 2023, an increase of £5,315 year on year. (Additional net income of £5,876 that related to FY22 was banked in FY23).

The Committee ran several events and all were successful and well attended. The major events were the Fireworks night and Summer Inflatable Day. Thanks must go to the commitee and the many volunteers, including both parents and staff.

The Discos remain a very profitable event with lower effort required and the School Lottery remains a good stream of income.

The prime purpose of the FRA is to raise funds for the School and during the year grants were made to the amount of £14,000 shown on page 6 of the accounts. This grant was used by the School to purchase interactive white boards.

The Committee's policy of having liquid funds of at least £3000 will continue, with any other funds being released to the school when requested.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT

7th July 2024

HARLYN SCHOOL FUNDRAISING ASSOCIATION

## TO THE TRUSTEES OF

Reg Charity No. 1011580

I report on the accounts for the charity for the year ended 31st July 2023.

## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and independent examiner**

As the Charity's Trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts; you consider that the audit requirement of Section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the Act) does not apply. It is my responsibiity to state, on the basis of procedures specified in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission under Section 43 (7)(b) of the Act, whether particular matters have come to my attention.

## **Basis of the independent examiner's report**

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any ususual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as Trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently, I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.

## **Independent examiner's statement**

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

1. Which givens me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements

- to keep accounting records in accordance with the Section 41 of the Act; and

- to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and to comply with the accounting requirements of the Act

have not been met; or

2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
