Type of governing document:
Charity Commission Scheme including appointment of Trustees dated 15 February
1990. Composition of the body of Trustees:
The body of trustees shall consist when complete of seven competent persons being
one ex- officio trustee, three nominated trustees and three co-opted trustees. The
nominated trustee5 shall be appointed for a term of 4 years and the co-opted trustees
for a terrn of 5 years.
Objerts of thecharity set out in itsgoverningbody
The area of benefit is the area of the Ecclesiastical Parish of St. Mark, Teddington and St. John the
Baptist, Hampton Wick, together with St. Mary and St. Alban in Teddington.
Subject to the payment of the expenses of management, the Trustees shall pay out of the
yearly income of the Charity a sum of not less than £50 and not more than £1,000 or such
other amount a5 may be approved by the Commissioners to the Parochial Church Council
{"PCC"} of the existing Ecclesiastical Parish of St. Mark, Teddington and St. John the Baptist,
Hampton Wick, for application by that council in or towards the maintenance and upkeep of
the Church of St. John the Bapt15t in that ecclesiastical parish.

Provided that if at any time the Church Commissioners establish a pastoral scheme which creates a
new ecclesiastical parish and as a result of which the said church is situated therein then the
Trustees shall pay the said sum to the parochial Church Council of the new ecclesiastical parish for
application by that council in like manner.
Subject thereto the Trustees shall applythe said income as follows:.
a) One third thereof for the promotion of education in the area of benefit, in accordance with
various provisions further detailed," and
bl Two thirds for relief in need and wider social benefits, also with various provisions further
detailed.
Summary of the maln achlevements of the charltydurlngthe year
The Trustees met three times. in June and October 2023 and in February 2024.
Historically, income for the charity has come from just three sources- rent from property.
dividends from investments and bank interest.
The Charity owns a commercial property in Walton-on-Thames, purchased in June 2016 at
cost of £657,404. Rents received in the year 2023-24 amounted to £42,695 (2022-23:
£42,512).
Dividends received were £15,325 {2022-23: £13,801) and interest from investments was
£5,845 (2022-23: £1,7381.
During the year, £2,684 was granted to Stjohn PCC and £1,000 to St Mark PCC. In addition, £1,000
was granted to St Mary with St Alban PCC. Out of the income received, £15,544 {2022-23.' £17,628)
was donated from the Promotion of Education Fund, £24,395 from the Relief in Need Fund12022-
23: £13,736), and £5,160 (2022-23: Nil) was donated for wider social benefits. Out of the Relief in
Need Fund, £3,991 (2022-23: £1,500) was donated to individuals in need, £15,529 (2022-23:
£12,236) to other organisations, and £4,875 was spent on a pilot voucher scheme to the
neighbourhood in need.
During the year the Trustees reviewed sections of the Constitution of 1990 regarding the
application of income to confirm and ensure compliance with them.
Financial Review
Cash balances at the bank and COIF at 31 March 2024 totalled £157,767 (31" March 2023:
£151,006). During the year, all units of M&G Charifund, BLK Charities UK Equity Fund and BLK
Charities UK Bond Fund were redeemed for a total of £129,274, which have been reinvested
into further COIF units. As a result, the Charity held 23,781 COIF units worth £485,907 at the

Reserves Policy
The Charity holds considerable reserves at the present. Our outgoing yearly commitments
are sti51 quite small in comparison. If our income was to drop significantly in any year it
would cause no financial problems, so it has been agreed that at present we do not need to
hold any reserves separately. but that we would review the position annually.

FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2024
I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 March 2024
which are set out on pages 5 and 6.
Responslbilities and basis of report
As the charitvs trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the
requirements of the Charities Act 20111'the Act'}.
I report in respect of my examination of the charitTrls accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in
carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under
section 14515){b) of the Act.
Independent examlner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection
with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or
the accounts do not accord with those records,
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which
attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be
reached.
