TRUSTEES’ REPORT
The Trustees present their annual report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 March 2021.
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out on page eight and comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Statement of Recommended Practice for Charities and with the Charity’s governing documents.
The trustees confirm that the charity has complied with the duty in Section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission. This report illustrates how the charity delivers public benefit.
Constitution and object
Swinton and District Playing Field Association is constituted under a conveyance and Trust Deed dated 11 November 1991, as amended on 19 May 1998 and is a registered charity number 1006665.
The object of the Charity is to provide sporting and leisure facilities for all sections of the local community.
Organisation
The overall management of the Charity is the responsibility of the Trustees. Day to day operations are managed by a committee of volunteers who report to the Trustees. The principal office of the Charity and names and addresses of relevant organisations are shown on page 2.

Review of the year
Due to the Pandemic the Club has been closed for most of the year. Although the football school was able to use the field for a limited time.
A sizeable grant was received from RDC in May 2020 to compensate for the loss of income so the club has not struggled financially.
Andrew Atkin has resigned as a Trustee from 18 March 2021
Investment Policy
The Trustees have considered the most appropriate policy for investing funds and have found that the Barclays Business Premium account meets the security of funds and achieves a competitive rate of interest as well as allowing easy access to capital.

Reserves policy
It is the policy of the chairman to maintain funds at a level sufficient for the Charity to meet its yearly financial commitments
Risk Management
Major risks to the Charity which appear to be theft or fire, have been discussed and suitable insurance cover has been obtained.
Trustees’ Responsibilities in Relation to the Financial Statements
Law applicable to Charities in England and Wales requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the Charity’s financial activities during the year and of its financial position at the end of the year. In preparing these financial statements, the Trustees are required to:-

Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently

Make judgement and estimates that are reasonable and prudent

State whether applicable accounting standards and statements of recommended practice have been followed subject to departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; and

Prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume the Charity will continue in business.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the Charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Accounting Convention
The financial statements have been prepared on the receipts and payments basis in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice for Charities and comply with the Charities Act 2011.
Grants Receivable
Revenue grants are recognised in the Receipts and Payments Account in full during the period in which conditions for receipts are met.
2. TRUSTEES TRANSACTIONS
No trustee expenses were reimbursed during the year (2021: NIL) and no remuneration was paid to trustees in the year (2020: NIL).
