FRIENDS OF PARK LANE SPECIAL SCHOOL TRUSTEES. REPORT FOR YEAR ENDING 31ST JANUARY 2025 In this financial year we have organized four events, which is the highest number of events since 2021. For each event the total net income was as follows." for the Summer Fair and BBQ (June 2024) net income totalled £2.002.75" for the Quiz Night held (October 2024) net income totalled £272.20; for the Christmas Bingo (December 2024) net income totalled £248.25; and for the Christmas Fair (Dember 2024) net income totalled £1,812.26. The total net income events was £4,335.46 (note: a total of £5,855.80 as banked as fioat ash previously released from the FOPLSS account was deposited back into the account). We have had one notable fundraising activty was organised by a parent. Vikki Thomas. who undertook a Weightlifting Challenge and raised a total of £1,511.06 for the school (raised primarily through FOPLSS Just Giving Account). This was a fantastic achievement by all involved. The total raised from fundraising for this financial year is £1,530.37. This year we have reiVed one-off donations from the Andrew Cross. Barclays, Equlibrium, Peter Entwistle and a number of donations related to the previous headteacher leaving, all directly to FOPLSS account. We have also received small but regular donations directly to FOPLSS via CharÈtable Giving and continued to re1ve donations via Just Giving outside of the fundraising activities. Finally, we received a substantial donation of from the Variety Club for a new school mini bus of £35.496. Taken together, total income from donations for this financial year was £37,589.62. In terms of money leaving the account, FOPLSS used the Variety Club donation and FOPLSS funds to secure the new Variety Club minibus. This totalled £54,836. Over the course of the year reimbursements were made to the school for equipment and facility improvements, including those for music resources. Widget Software contribution and fencing improvements, totalling £26,100. Additionally, FOPLSS reimbursed the school for new Pentagon Softplay for the lower school, which totaled £39,775. FOPLSS has reimbursed costs for expenses related to the four events held this year, at a total of £1,097.33. FOPLSS has also reimbursed costs related to tea and coffee donations for Park Lane School staff over the course of the year and costs incurred in holding FOPLSS meet and greet coffee mornings. These costs totalled £659.78. FOPLSS continues to made regular monthly payments for the Just Giving platform fee, totalling £216.00 and the annual costs for the PTA membership and insurance of £115.00. Independent examiner's report to the Trustees of Tbe Friends of Park Lane Special School I report to the Trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity ('*he Trust") for the year ended 3 1st January 2025 set out on pages 4. Responsibilities and basis of report As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ("the Act"). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 201 l Act, and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. I am qualified to undertake the examination as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Independent examiner's statement I have completed my examination and confirn] that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect: the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair, view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. I have no concerns and have come across no other rnatters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
