Trustees Annual Report Rufus Friends Fund: Charity No 1006484 1 January 2023- 31 December 2023 The Charity gives grants to provide holidays and leisure activities to individuals, families and special schools with a member or members with Learning difficuLties who could not otherwise afford them. More specifically. the criteria for the provisions of grants is as follows: the family must have a memberwho has a learning difficulty and live in Warwickshire the family must be in need a break. holidayor respite and the family must have no other means of affording a break or holiday. This includes a variety of activities including: Holidays of up to one week and where necessary, the provision of specific assistance which is tailored to the needs of the family. The provision of activities such as play schemes, swimming lessons, visits to local attractions for individuals with learning diff iculties and their families. Day trips and outings arranged by special schools forthe benefit of their pupils and families. It is confirmed that the Charity's Trustees are aware of the guidance issued by the Charity Commission in relation to Public Benefit and have due regard to the guidance in considering applications to the Charity. The Charity Trustees are satisfied that both the ' public" and "benefit" aspect of the guidance is fully satisfised and that the Charity's activities are therefore fully compliant. All applications to the Charity are received via professionals from the Local Authority "Children with Learning DisabilityTeam" on behalf of the applicant and their families or directly from special schools. This ensures that, before applications are considered on its individual merits by the Charity Trustees, the application complies with the charities requirements which are stated above. During the period of this report, the charity has given 23 grants to families and schools with a total value of £16,398.47 This has provided Local families with a significant degree of respite and relief in the often very challenging environment in which they live their daily lives. Feedback from families. social workers and local special schools has confirmed the difference the charities work has made to those the families benefiting from grants.

Ll The charity is governed by a charitable trust deed dated 15 November 1991 There are 4 trustees. details of which are provided below. The trustees are selected by the unanimous agreement of all current trustees based on their individual skills and experience and how these can benefit the charities activities and its governance obligations. Please see the Charity accounts. At the end of the period of this report. the Charity had funds of £37,724.83 Its reserves are £10.728.94 and these are currently invested in units trusts (via fully regulated financial advisers). The purpose of the reSer￿e fund it to firstly ensure that, if required. there are funds available should the funds raised each year not exceed the grants given and secondLy to build up an investment income to provide the charity With another source of ongoing funds. The charity's policy is to achieve long terms groKrth, but this is mitigated by ensuring the risk profile is balanced to ensure security in relation to these funds. The charity receives no government grants. has no trading subsidiaries. and no Trustee receives any benefit. renumeration or payment from the Charity. The Charity benefits from and receives gift aid. The charity's Trustees are as follows.
