- To Advance the Buddhist Religion in particular but not exclusively in accordance with the tenets and doctrines of the Karma Kagyu School of Tibetan Buddhism. Summary of the objects of the 2. To advance education in accordance with the tradition of charity set out in its Buddhism; to relieve persons in need in accordance with Buddhist governing document practices. 1. To provide facilities for regular Buddhist prayers, meditation and services for both the resident community and others of all faiths or no faith. This is very beneficial for the alleviation of stress, the development of compassion, goodwill and understanding between different faiths. 2. To provide a permanent centre for the support of a resident community. 3. To sponsor eminent Buddhist teachers to visit Birmingham Karma Ling to give religious instruction. 4. To publish Buddhist texts and to provide tuition in the study of the texts and provide instruction in Buddhist philosophy and practice. 5. To provide educational resources for schools and colleges, for students of comparative religion through visits to Birmingham Karma Ling and by providing speakers to go out to educational institutions and other interested organisations. 6. To continue the established and widely supported study of spoken and written Tibetan language which has been a successful part of more advanced studies. 7. Representatives of Birmingham Karma Ling are working with interfaith organisations and making a significant contribution to fostering goodwill between different faiths and promoting social cohesion. 8. Resident Sangha provide pastoral support and care locally and nationally. The trustees of Birmingham Karma Ling confirm that they have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit.

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
The Charity has continued its programme in pursuit of achieving the aims and objectives set out in its trust deed. With the addition of a Religious Worker the Charity has been able to extend its pastoral support work and enhanced its practice instruction and Tibetan language classes.
The Charity offered year two of a three year course ‘Developing the Buddha Within’ organised through the support of Palpung Sherabling Monastery, India. Birmingham is the only centre in England to offer this study and practice curriculum. Students are required to continue the study and practice programme on a weekly basis. The Charity will offer year two of ‘Discovering the Buddha Within’ in late summer 2025.
