## **Structure, Governance and Management:** 

The charity is a non-company charity. Its trustees are parents or friends of children at the Warren Mead schools. The work of the charity relies on volunteers from the staff and parents/friends of the schools.

## **Statement of Trustees’ Responsibilities:** 

The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees’ Annual Report and Financial Statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice. 

The trustees are also responsible for keeping adequate accounting records, sufficient to show and explain the charity’s transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy the financial position of the charity. 

## **Charitable Objectives** : 

To advance the education of pupils in the schools in particular by: 

- Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the schools. 

- Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the schools and advance the education of pupils. 

## **Achievements and Financial Review:** 

During the year, the charity raised over £51,000 (net of fundraising costs) to support its charitable objectives. This included more than £25,000 secured through 16 separate grants. The charity also organised 8 fundraising events, generating close to £23,000 (net of fundraising costs), with a further £4,500 raised through other fundraising activities. 

In terms of expenditure, the charity invested over £35,000 directly into delivering its charitable objectives, with approximately £1,700 spent on essential operating expenses. 

## **Financial Position and Reserves:** 

The charity ended the year with funds of over £27,000, including £10,000 grant funding to spend on special projects to benefit the schools in the coming year. Remaining funds will be used to support the objectives of the charity in the future.

**Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees** 

**Year ended 31 July 2025** 

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of The Warren Mead Schools Parents and Friends Association for the year ended 31 July 2025. 

## **Responsibilities and Basis of Report:** 

As the charity trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

## **Independent Examiner’s Statemen:** 

I have completed my examination, and I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 

1. Accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or 

2. The accounts do not accord with those records; or 

3. The accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

## **Notes to the Accounts** 

## **1) Accounting Policies** 

The accounts have been prepared on an accruals basis in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS102) and applicable charity law. 

Income is recognised when the charity is entitled to the funds, receipt is probable and the amount can be measured reliably. 

## **2) Trustee Remuneration and Expenses** 

No trustee received remuneration during the year. No trustees were reimbursed expenses. 

## **3) Independent Examination** 

The charity’s accounts were subject to independent examination in accordance with section 145 of the Charities Act 2011.
