To support the charitable work of Rehoboth Children’s Homes of the Philippines. One of the trustees lived at the Homes for two periods of three months providing tuition, administrative support and valuable liaison between the UK Board of Trustees and the local management in the Philippines. Volunteers give assistance with a sponsorship programme and with managing finances.

Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main Accommodation and nutrition were provided for 31 children in two achievements of the charity separate houses. The children were supported through the educational during the year system, some to further education and training to enable them to seek suitable employment. The community based educational assistance programme was continued and supported 24 college students, 5 high school students and 2 elementary school students. 6 of the college students graduated during the year enabling them to seek appropriate employment. One older resident was supported in living independently. .

Brief statement of the charity’s policy on reserves

The aim of the trustees is to keep a minimum of at least three months’ reserve funds in the Philippines and also at least three months’ reserve funds in the UK to meet ongoing needs of the Homes and any unforeseen contingencies. The reserve at the end of the year in the UK was £206,612 which was equivalent to approximately 24 months’ reserves.

The principal source of funds is gifts from individuals and churches. Funds are also provided from occasional legacies which provide welcome amounts of extra income.

97% of expenditure was spent on the direct support of the Children’s Homes in the Philippines.
