Trustees Annual Financial Report for the year ended 31 March 2025

The receipts and expenses summary (C3) shows a surplus of £6359.58 for the financial year ending 31 March 2025.

During the financial year we saw our utlity costs increase. As our contract was ending we changed our electricity provider mid-year.

We were delighted to see an increase in revenue from both the Fireworks and Summer Fayre this year. An invitation to support the Tadley TENS event in October with a BBQ also increased our fundraising total. Again this year we saw a successful wreath making session which was very enjoyable and raised funds for the Group - our thanks to all involved.

We would like to thank the Peter Baker Foundation for their donation of £200 to purchase new equipment for the kitchen and to Helping Hands in Tadley for their donation of £1,500, which is going towards improvements to the emergency lighting system and other aspects of the den.

lt should be noted that the young peoples subscriptions do not fully fund the day to day operation of the sections and the den, and therefore some of the fundraising is used to subsidise running costs. It is the stated intention of the trustees to aim to get the Group's running costs eventually to be totally funded by subscriptions.

On behalf of the trustees | would like to thank Catherine Learoyd, who took up the role of Treasurer at the beginning of the financial year. Due to changes in circumstances Catherine passed the baton to our vice-chair, Paul Robinson for the remainder of the year. The trustees really appreciate the effort Catherine put into her role.

We would also like to thank all our volunteers, parents, helpers and young people for their support during the year, especially at our two major fundraising events. The success of which helps us ensure that our young people get an exciting and challenging programme.

The available funds are at a level the Group Executive considers are sufficient to maintain its premises and continue delivering the Group's activities programmes.

The Baughurst Scout and Guide Group is a trust established under its rules, which are common to all groups/districts. Trustees are appointed in accordance with the Policy, Organisation and Rules of the Scout Association. The accounts have been drawn up showing receipts, payments and expenses paid between ‘1st April 2024 and 31 March 2025.

independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of the Baughurst Scout and Guide Group

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts; you consider that the audit requirement of Section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the Act) does not apply. It is my responsibility to state, on the basis of procedures specified in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners under Section 43(7)(b) of the Act, whether particular matters have come to my attention.

Basis of examiner's report

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently | do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.

independent Examiner's statement

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

  1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 41 of the Act and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and to comply with the accounting requirements of the Act have not been met, or

  2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached,
