The Trustees present their report and the financial statements of the Trust for the year ended 31 March 2025.
Reference and Administrative Details of the Charity, its Trustees and Advisors
The name of the Charity is The Kitty and Daniel Charitable Trust, registered charity number 1002786.

Structure Governance and Management
The Charity is constituted under a Trust established on 6 January 1991 and is a registered Charity.
Trust’s Objectives
The objectives of the Trust are that of the relief of poverty, the advancement of education, the advancement of medicine and any other purposes which are exclusively charitable according to the Laws of England and Wales.
Trust’s Activities
In consultation with trustees the following changes were undertaken:
- On 11 December 2024, the Trustees resolved that their aims would be better achieved if the majority of the Charity’s assets (comprising cash and investments) were transferred to the Cazenove Capital Donor Advised Fund (‘the DAF’). The DAF is administered by the National Philanthropic Trust UK, registered charity number 1181128 (‘the NPC’). The NPC administers the DAF and Cazenove Capital manages the investment portfolio.

- In accordance with the above, SUTL Cazenove Charity Sustainable Multi-Asset Fund was transferred to the DAF on 21 January 2025. The value of the fund as shown in the Balance Sheet has decreased from £840,128 on 31 March 2024 to £NIL on 31 March 2025. The Charity retained the sum of £20,317 in cash with a view to granting approximately £1,000 per annum in furtherance of its charitable purposes.
Reserves
The Trust has good reserves which are invested to produce income.
Trustees’ Responsibilities
The Charities Act and the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations require the Trustees to prepare accounts for each financial year. In preparing these accounts, the Trustees are encouraged to follow the recommendations outlined in Statement of Recommended Practice, Accounting by Charities Act 2011.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the Trust and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011 as amended by the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for keeping a record of assets and liabilities of the Trust.

Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees Year Ended 31 March 2025
I report on the financial statements of the Charity for the year ended 31 March 2025.
This report is made solely to the charity's trustees, as a body, in accordance with Part 4 of the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008. My work has been undertaken so that I might state to the charity's trustees those matters I am required to state to them in an Independent Examiner's Report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the charity and the charity's trustees as a body, for my work or for this report.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements. They consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the Act) but that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to:

examine the financial statements under section 145 of the Act;
-
follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act; and
-
state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of Independent Examiner's report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by The Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the financial statements presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the financial statements and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the financial statements present a 'true and fair view' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent Examiner's statement
In connection with my examination, no matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the 2011 Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records: or
-
the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a “true and fair view” which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

- ACCOUNTING POLICIES
The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the Accounting Standards Committee’s Statement of Recommended Practice for Charities, except as noted below.
Investment income is not recognised in these accounts until such time as it has actually been received.
Indirect expenditure comprises items of expenditure incurred solely in the administration of the funds of the Charity.
The Charity has taken advantage of the exemption in Financial Reporting Standard No.1 from the requirement to produce a cash flow statement on the grounds that it qualifies as a small Charity.
The Accumulated Fund comprises only unrestricted funds.
The Accounts are prepared on a receipts and payments basis.
