LONGWICK VILLAGE HALL

Treasurers report 2022 – 23

Using last year’s accounts and matching the information as closely as possible this is the best information I can give to the Committee regarding the finances of Longwick Village Hall for the period 1[st] April, 2022 to the 31[st] March, 2023.

The year was hampered significantly by the inability to access the bank account except through the good graces of the previous treasurer. This, combined with the necessity to pay invoices by manual cheques, has added considerably to the inability to process transactions efficiently. The inability to resolve this issue adds significantly to the workload.

The following notes form part of the accounts for the year.

## **2022 Fete / 2023 Fete**

The 2023 Fete took place on 29[th] April, 2023 so the figure in the accounts represents income and expenditure received prior to the 31[st] March NOT the total income from the event.

Similarly the figures for the 2022 Fete have been apportioned to the two accounting years.

## **Grant**

The Hall received a one off Grant of £6,900.00 to enable loft insulation to be installed.

The installation cost £5,500.00 leaving a surplus of £1,400.00 which has been included in the general income for the hall.

## **Loan Repayment**

An interest free loan of £5,000.00 was received by the Trustees from Molins in the accounting year 2020 - 21. Molins have agreed to the loan being repaid over a period of 4 years in annual instalments of £1250.00 every August. The remaining balance is reflected in the accounts.

## **Maintenance**

A significant amount of the Maintenance costs have been one off charges related to the opening of the Platinum Room.

They are: Soundssorba ( acoustic panels ) £1422.00 Curtains £ 416.00 Project Costs £ 285.60

## **2023-24 – Note**

The financial year 2023 – 24 sees the end of the current fixed price Gas and Electricity agreements. The Electricity agreement ends in July and the best offer we have had so far suggests the costs will rise from £1,100.00 to c£3,000.00

Similarly our Gas agreement ends in October, 2023 and the equivalent calculation suggests the costs will rise from £3,600.00 to £5,000.00. We are, currently, overpaying our gas bills so have a c£2,000.00 credit with Eon hence the potential damage to our cash flow is not as terrible as it might have been.
