and reviewed in 2003 and 2008. MLmbership consists of all parents qind/or guardians of pupils
attendin&y Amherst School and all tLachcrs on the stalTofthe school. Managemeni of the PTA is
vested in a Committee consisting of a Chair, Vice-chair, Secretary and Treasurer, together with a
minimum ot" six othLr mLmbLrs who scrvc until the commcncemeni of ihc nexi AGM. Temporary
vacancies are tilled by co-opting existing Cominittee members to the otfices which have been
vacated.

Objectives and Activities
The object of the Association is lo advance the education of the pupils in the school. In lurtherance
of the object the Association may:
a) Develop more extended relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with
the school
b) Engage in activities which supwrt the school and advance the education of the pupils
attendi ngy it
c) Provide and assist in th¢ provision of facilitics for education at the school (not nonnally
provided by the Local Education Authority)
Achievements and Performance
Thanks to the continued work of the Committee. the unwaverinbi support ot-our parents and local
businesses, the PTA raised net c&qh and changie in receivables* funds of £25,267 duringF the year.

It is important to notc th¢lt the org)anisation of events and fundraisingy activities for the year were
implemented by Officers comingi lo ihe end ofiheir Iwo-yLar terni (Hayley. N icole, Annic and
Steven). The incoming OtTicers thank the 2022-4 team for their excellent contribution. their efforts
in assisting a smooth transition and layinby a fantastic t-oundation for future success.
Thc PTA donated £14,559 to Amherst School duringy the year to fund the replacement of the
O¢tsbJon and for the travel costs of the annual school pantomime trip.
Match fundingy raised £4,422, in addition to the key fundraising protits above. This contribution is
well appreciated, however it continues the decline in match funding from a hibh 01" £32,427 in
2020121. The OtTicers are focussin&y their eftorts on increasinby Member participation in match
fiinding. wilh initiglive.< qijch aq 2 mAtch fiindinL? xwxrenesq evening in November 2024 and sctting
match funding recruitmenl targeis for class representatives.
Unresiricted c&sh funds of £70,861 were available at the financial y¢ar end to be uscd for future
projects and aclivities.
*Duting the 202?13 financial y¢ar Amherst PTA jointly held a Coronation Ball with Rivcrhcad Infant S¢hi)ol PTA which
raised a fantastic sum of £6.462 Amherst PTA'5 share of profit was received at the beginning of the 202314 financial
year, and iherefore included in the headline figures t.or the previous year.

Report to the trustees Charity Name Amherst School PTA On accounts for the year 31 August 2024 Charity no 1002301 ended (if any) Set out on pages Receipts and Payments Accounts I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31 August 2024. 

Responsibilities and basis As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the of report accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

Independent examiner's I have completed my examination.  I confirm that no material matters have statement come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that, in any material respect: 

- the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or 

- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records. 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
