Trustees Annual Report for the year ended 31 March 2021
The objective of Morley Village & Sports Hall Committee is to provide a low cost, affordable and accessible venue for all both in the local parishes and wider areas. Morley Village & Sports Hall hire facilities include a sports hall, meeting/activity/therapy room, climbing wall, badminton/short tennis and table tennis. There are a wide variety of classes and clubs for adults and children most days of the week including Climbing, Dance, Over 50’s Keep Fit, Zumba, Family Karate, Morley Youth Football Club, Baby, Toddler and Pre-School Sessions and Theatre. The hall is also hired out for sports, weddings, children’s parties, private functions, events and business.
In 2020/21 the occupancy rate average was not indicative due to the Covid-19 Pandemic the hall was closed for a total of 8 months between the end of March 2020 and March 2021. Monthly running costs were still paid during the period closure along with any contingency repairs that were required. The hall did however successfully re-open between Lockdowns after working with the Norfolk Environmental Health Team and ACRE to become a Covid Secure Venue. Total hire income was £8,922.96

SNCC charity assets were transferred to Morley Village & Sports Hall following its’ closure with the money reserved for climbing wall running costs which the committee undertook to run.
The hall was successful in receiving grant funding for the sum of £27,449.03 during the financial year.
The total outgoings for the financial year were £22,748.49
In conclusion even though 2020/2021 was a challenging year, the bookings administrator still received bookings for events to be held in 2021/2022 and beyond.
The Village Hall continues to thrive and be the hub of the community.

Independent examiner's report on the accounts
Report to the trustees and members of Morley Village & Sports Hall for the year ended 31 March 2021.
The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the Act)) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to
-
examine the accounts (under section 43 of the Act),
-
to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 43(7)(b) of the Act), and
-
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
My examination was carried out in accordance with General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts.
In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention

which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the trustees have not met the requirements to ensure that:

proper accounting records are kept (in accordance with section 41 of the Act); and
-
accounts are prepared which agree with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Act; or
-
to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
