THE BRADFORD 50UP RUN. The Bradford Soup Run Charity Number: 1001738 Unit 4, Neweastle HOSe. Barkerend Road, Bradford BDI 4AP Tntees. John TempesL Roger BeaumonL Bryn Ranyard TTrees. Annual Report 2024 'Challenging' was the word most often Sed during the year. We knew our income was likely to suffer- mostly due to the hard times experienced byour supporters - but we carried on and ensured all those who attended our Soup runs were well fed with a nutritious and tasty mea]. To achieve this we were even more judicious than usual when purchasing food - always being mindful of our 'mantra' since 'Day One, _ Quality must come first. Fortunate]y. we can negotiate quite well, and so we di ensuring that we were able to provide what was required within our budgeL We received much support from Wm Morrison's Superniarkets- with discount on the food we buy as well as donations in the forni of FAster eggs and chocolates - required .41 for our 'Chox 'n' SO campaign prior to Christnw. We also reached out to the many schools, churches, busine&ses and individuals within the Bradford area and they responded well. We were aware that our regular meat bill was higher than it could have been so we sourced a larger supplier and were able to take advantage of both their generosity and economie advantage. We are meeting people of many different nationalities - many with stories to tell - but theyall have at least one thing in common: theyneed feeding, and we kDoWthre most appreciative of what we provide. At least once a year we travel to another county aDd load up our vehicle with as many new land bigh qualityl socks, hats, gloves, scarves and underwear. Occasionally, small tents and bedding are required - again, we negotiate good prices, sometimes with no eharge. We have the same team ofvolunteers [including one person who we used to feedj that we have had for many years and their dedication to the work we do is much appreciated by all. There were no serious incidents to report between January and December 2024. John Tempest Founder, Dirertor and Trustee of The Bradford Soup Run T: 01274-724 212/ 078th 459 148
