Achievements and perfornanee
The Council of Asian People {Haringey) rebranded Ihe Asian Centre as the Community Hub in 2018 10
reflect the need lo engage a wider local communty. bul still keeping Ils heritage as the Asian people
were al rts core. Since 2018 we have seen a wider Cl￿nIe￿ using the service. from rts Day Care through
rts open access classes wth a wider ethnic and cuttural background using its facilrf(ies. Loneliness and
isolation are also key areas identified localty which became a focus for project planning and grant
funding applications. bearing fruil in Augusl 2018 wrth the start of Re-connect.
The yeai 2021- 22 has seen a re-ftxusing ofthe Cul￿nt activity. consolidating its St￿ngthS and applying
for new trust and foundations grants to ftjrther develop the work of the organisalion.
The focus on Health, Leaming and Sctk41 aciivitw had ijeveloped including éance and keep fil classes,
IT for beginners and heaifh workshops_ The organisation ¢ontinued to offer members athrties. special
events. trips out in the minibus as well as en¢oyraging local people to hire the Halls_
The biggest stsndalone communty pioject was the Communty Reach project Ènga9ed wth young
women of childbearing age to promote good heahh care in p￿gnancy. This project successfLJIIy
engaged with 300 local women of many ethn￿ and cultur81 backgrounds to promote the infomiation and
signpost people to ante natal classes and general heaHh infomation to ensure good pregnancies.
