The museum 8XiSts to tell the story of the Regiment's land its predecessors. and 8ucces8ors'l history end
achievements by collecting, preserving and dispi8ying the Regiment's collection of 8rtefActs from its lormetlon
In 1741 to the present day forthe benefit of the present and former members of the Regiment, the residents of
Nottlnghamshire and Derbyshire, those furtherafleld with $peci81ised interest and visitors to the 8re8. The
displays of the collection aim to interpret and communlcate In w8y8 that inspire enjoyment and provoke
questions from visitors.
The trustees have pald due regard to the Charity Comm188lon's guidance on publSc benétlt In deciding what

promotes the efficiency of the amied forces of the Crown by enhancing the British Army's capability to
undert8ke the rolé8 demanded of It Includingthe defence of the Unlted Kingdom 8nd rts interests.
Volunteer8
The museum is reliant on its volunteers to urKlertake research. archNe wo￿, education81 projects and to staff
stands on open days and events in the two counties. There were 6 ￿lUnteerS in 2025. The trustees estimate
that the number of hours and value of the %fjlunteers to the Museum in 2025 w88 135 hrs which equated to
£2,700, (using HLF agreed figure of £20.00 per hourfor skilled w)lunteet8)

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Review of activities
In 2025the museum continued to focus onthe archives in Chilwell. The medal displayswere
refreshed, and temporary exhibition changed every 6 months. The w￿bsIte h88 ensured 8 StÈ8dy income
stre8mfrom its museum enquiryserviceforthose researchingtheirfamily historywith the regiment and the
donation box continued to brlng in money.
The museum hired a Museum Assistsnt in 2022. to assistthe Curator. and this has proved
invaluablg. 2025 s8Wthe continued employment of an Asslstsnt who answered Family History
enquiries, an importantlundlngstreamforthe museum.
Nottingham Clty Coun¢ll remains runningthe slte and an tntegr81 partner.
The muséum continues to be a membèrot EMMA{East Militsry Museum8As8OCi8tlonl 8ndthe
Curator attends Its maetlng8 SO that the museums can work together on joint projects.
Physlcal Visbtor's numbers to museum gaiiery In Nottingham C88tlè from J8nuary 2025- December 2025 were
208.072. Our shared gallery In Derby Museum saw 52. 484 visitors to the gallery.
The website hits are recorded in 2025 as 12,PJ90.70 lifetime page view8 and 4.100 users. 61.16% of those users
are new users and 38.4 % are returning. On 8OCi8I media had 829foll0￿￿rs on Facebook and 336 followers
on X, formerly Twltter.

Educatlon
The Education Outreach Service with Access Artef8cts of Nottingham Museums and Galleries is part of the
Heritage Lottery fund 8ward. In October 2016 both organisations split the profits of the boxes with Access
Artefacts admlnlst8ring 8nd Ma￿eting the boxes to local schools. Since the boxes launched. they have eamed
the museum £252.50 in income to date.

administering such funds are charged against a specific fund. The aim and use of each restrlcted fund
is set out in the notes ofthe financial statement.
