Objectives and Activities
Guilden Sutton Pre-School provides daily sessions for children between the ages of two and a half and four.
To advance the education of children below compulsory school age.
The trustees have had due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit, the above activities furthering the charity’s purpose in this area.
Achievements and Performance
The pre-school has had an active successful year offering ten sessions.
Close links have been maintained with the local church and school as well as the local toddler group.
Financial Review
Reserves
Reserves are held in a bank current account and bank deposit account. Reserves must, as a minimum, cover wind up costs. The remainder is held for the replacement of equipment and potential future expansion or relocation.

Review of Financial Position
The pre-school principal source of funding is fees, paid directly or through the nursery education grant. Some fundraising is also undertaken. The charity has a good level of reserves at the year end and made a small surplus in the year.
Structure, Governance and Management
The charity was registered on 14 November 1990. Its constitution was adopted on 18 September 1990 and amended on 10 October 1996 and 20 September 2006. The pre-school is registered with Ofsted and affiliated to the Pre-School Learning Alliance.
Overall management of the charity is provided by a committee of elected Trustees. Trustees are elected annually by the membership. All parents and guardians of children attending pre-school are members of the pre-school.

Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Guilden Sutton Pre-School
I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 August 2024 which are set out on pages 1 to 4
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity’s trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
- accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or 2. the accounts do not accord with those records
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
