Concert programme during the year
A fvll programme of seven concerts in the 'MusK in the State Chamberf 8w¢$ was h&ld. including
Chamber Carols event in December.
The Summer 2025 con¢xrt featured works by R8mirez. Poston. Bairstow. Brahms. and P8rry,
perfomed by the Music FOUr￿8tion. including the Minster Chorale.
Involv•m•nt ol th• loul ￿mMUnIty In muslcal p•rfomwic•
The annual Messiah concert was hehl in December 2025. Conducted by the Assistant Director of
Mussc, Jonny Alsc4w. the voices of the Minster Chorale and a singing group from th8 Minster School
were augmented by profess￿nal sokjksts and the concert was accompanied by the Muslcal &
Amicabl8 Socr8ty.
A Su￿88￿1 'Come & Sing, presenlation of Cokndge's Requiem was Fwfomiod in Octobw 2025.

Togethér with the Lay Cleffxs, the Choristers parbcipated in Four choi￿ events at Leicester
Cathadral in ju￿ 2025 and Derby Cathedral in January 2026.
David H￿1. Intsmats'onal Chair in Choral Conducting at the Royal Nthm Coll¢go of Mus￿. lod a
workshop for tho thori5ters and Lay Clerks in October 2025.
Initially funded by a oY•mmunty grant of £6,2th) receivad from CO-OP. the 'Melody Makers, group
was kiunched towards th8 ènd 012022. Chli dren from s(*ool Years 1 and 2 are intrf*Juced to ¢horal

Since its inception in 2011, the d$sCret￿nary travel grant scheme has out over £32,000 lo the
parentslcarers of chorist$ts with a home address more than seven mI￿S from the Minster

Making a mcxyest profft of £156, this social and fvnd4alslng ¥v8nt was hold in the Stste Chamber in
November 2025. Retired Senior Lay Cbrk and profession81 qutz quesboA-s8ttgr, Guy Tumer, hosted
this ènjoyable evening which is now an annud r￿lure in the AssocAtion's calendar.
Honours board and prlz•s
The honourn board is Maintain￿ at thè expense of the ChoirAss0ciat*￿.
Six priz&$ of £50 ea(* were awarded to three girf Ch￿Ist￿S and three boy choristers at thè end ofthe
academic year.
Chornl Outrgach Programm•
The Choral Outreach Prc*Jramme- stsrted in 2010- is adMiniste￿d by SMCA and has beèn fundad
by the Chapter of SouMw811 Minstèr. Thè Heritago Lottery Fund. The Pilling Trusi and an anonymous
private donor. It was brought to a clc*o during the year as prsvh?us donors ats no lon98r in a
POsiIK)n lo continue fvnding the FKogramme.
